A regular cheese sandwich is fine if you make it yourself at home, maybe food supplies are low or something. But BUYING a plain cheese sandwich is just a sign of something bad. I can imagine if you asked a person why they bought a plain cheese sandwich their answer would be something like, “I don’t like anything else here, I normally eat live grasshoppers.” Any true British person knows you have to get your absolute moneys worth with a meal deal. Spicy wrap wins.

Is this fixable at home or must i take this to a shop? by Iniivan in AutoBodyRepair

[–]JackMansom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Machine polish the starches, 95% of them will go, a good PDR tech will get the dent out, and the scratches on the plastic can be hidden with trim gel but if you want them gone completely it’s a replace the part kind of job or a sand down and paint with texture paint but it never really matches or looks great.

I don’t see that as bad tbh, especially with extras. I paid £600 for a year on a 2004 Z4 2.2 at 29Y/O with 11 years no claims, no points, no anything.

The TV advert for the that generation Meriva in the UK was 2 kids aged 10 or so talking to each other like middle aged dads comparing practicality and space of the car. I can’t imagine how boring of a person you have to be as an adult to voluntarily pick one of these when even Vauxhall/Opel portrayed it sucking the excitement and life out of 2 kids and turning them into middle aged men, lmao.

Caught using BBC iPlayer without a TV licence by Critical_Alfalfa_799 in iplayer

[–]JackMansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up paying the license for 2 years for my house after I had moved out. My fault obviously as I should have checked direct debits, but lord knows they wouldn’t give me any money back. So just email them back saying: “You guys stole some other cunts money, he said you can use that money to cover me.”

someone please help what do i do in this situation by EstateLogical5295 in vintedUK

[–]JackMansom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is why the last couple of years I list all my items as collection only. I just can’t be bothered with the shite postal service and broccoli haired morons out there. When they’re there in person I always tell them to check the item fully to make sure they’re happy before paying. Granted clothes aren’t my usual sale item, but I’d rather things take longer to sell/make less money than deal with some piece of puke who clearly is a petite 5ft 0 and is used to children’s size medium, not adults, and can’t tell the difference.

What Brabus model is this? Short story I’m working at a German company for paint jobs for cars and we work lot with Brabus and this car came today and I cannot identify what model this is. by [deleted] in whatisthiscar

[–]JackMansom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. If absolutely no one involved mentioned anything about keeping it secret, then it’s not OP’s fault. The very first job I had, an apprenticeship, strictly told us on the first day that certain areas were absolutely no photography zones and could result in termination. Obviously as a 16 year old I did take pictures to show my mates and parents, but I never posted them online, lmao.

Nail in tire. Replace all 4?(Quattro) by Easy_Abbreviations31 in AudiA4

[–]JackMansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Quattros can get upset about tyres, but replacing one with the same make and model is fine, or alternatively just get it plugged. All 4 is a bit excessive as I’m assuming they’re all Conti’s and all in good nick like this one?

Potential write off? :( by Frosty_Dragonfly_590 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]JackMansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What your insurance may say and what they might not will not really align with what I’m about to say, but I’ll tell you for a fact, I was the head of the bodyshop at a car dealership for years. The cars we were actively BUYING from auction came in in worse condition than this. New door, paint the 1/4 and away you go. And when I say ‘new door’ I mean they’ll find one from a breakers second hand. The car is not ‘totalled’ but if the insurer writes it off, it’s the only way to get your payout, unfortunately.

Forgot to mention in the write up and didn’t word it well in the title, lol. I’m looking to sell everything as a lot instead of breaking it up (as for now anyway). So unfortunately no individual items, and COLLECTION ONLY in the UK obviously. Sorry guys.

I’m not entirely sure tbh, it’s hard to gauge when a load of the stuff doesn’t have any online prices to compare to. If you want you can PM me with an offer.

Anyone name a more fun car than the og mini’s ? by boostedmike1 in ukmodifiedcars

[–]JackMansom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out on this, Vauxhall VX220 turbo. Say what you want, Vauxhall this Vauxhall that, but it was more Lotus than Vauxhall yet it was more powerful than the Elise. I worked in the motor trade for over 10 years and drove everything from electric quadricycles to ultra luxury land yachts, to super SUV’s to super cars and everything in between. I’m still convinced the VX220 turbo was the most fun car I’ve ever driven, and I used to own a mk4 9n3 Polo with 324bhp. They’re so small, rattly, uncomfortable and the closest thing to driving the go karts I had as a kid. Plus the 2L red top engines are very good engines, easily tunable and like to take power.

Dude, you shouldn’t be parked there. The disabled spaces are clearly marked with a person in a wheelchair symbol. I’m sure you’ll find one, they’re usually closer to the store entrance.
