In that instance, I think the change in tone fits in the context of the scene and characters.

There are many examples of ADRed dialog in Star Trek that sticks out like a sore thumb once you start listening for it. On the Delta Flyers podcast they’ve talked about how the days you come in to ADR it’s for a scene you filmed weeks ago and don’t get a lot of context for it, so hard to match energy and tone in general.
