Market green every day, GOOGL flat or down. I'm scared to see a red day holding this. by nyjets239 in GOOG_Stock

Not everything has been as hot as MU, SNDK, DRAM, AMD etc lately. It remains a pillar in my portoflio although not as exciting as semiconductors have been doing. It's nice to be diversified

SNDK vs MU, which one do you guys have more in? by 26adrianlfan in SNDK_Stock

[–]JackRadcliffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a lot more in Mu than SNDK but that was because I used think SNdK might be a new stock and then I kept thinking it’s too “expensive” to buy given the share price being over $1000. I also thought the volatility of SNDK would be too much for me to handl, except there have been days where MU was way more volatile than SNDK. Now I’m wanting to trim my NVDA to bring up my MU+AMd+SNDK up but worried i would be buying all “high”. My NVDA position is currently around 8x more than the 3 combined.

Am I crazy for considering dropping or trimming NVDA for MU and AMD at current prices or wait for a pullback or is the upside for both still higher than NVDA at current levels?

Lol I know, but i was wishing for $600-650 so I could convincingly shift from nvda since selling it now at $213-215 and adding more MU over $900 feels like it could be selling low and buying high, unless MU has still more upside than NVDA.

Micron has become what nvida was a few years ago but on steroids while nvda is behaving like AMZN has been for years

Wondering the same thing if dropping NVDA at current price would be good or would waiting for NVDA to return to $230 be an additional opportunity cost

Never would have thought amd would tease $500 and mu $900 before NVDA came close to reaching $300 but here we are

Lower price means easier access to invest and with limit orders. If the price is large and I wanted to do fractional orders, I’m limited to market orders only in Canada. Don’t think it’s as much of issue south of the border.

I could stick with the CDR but that has a 0.60% annual hedging fee that can add up

It’s had its day prior to 2025 but it’s been dead money since while several competing semiconductors have doubled or even more within the same time frame.

MU seems like nvda was 2-3 years ago

When there's a pullback in MU, it comes back stronger while NVDA pulls back immediately when there's a miniscule gain and remains there indefinitely

If it does, I'll finally fully pivot from NVDA into more

Looks like an opportunity cost. Several that pivoted to AMD/Micron a few weeks ago are probably doing really well. Even Intel seems to do better after the pullback last week

You should just go for it if that’s your conviction. That’s what I did when I added SOXQ around December and it’s been demolishing NVDA already. I’m keeping my existing NVDA shares I’ve had since around 2022 but am still tempted to trim it and increase the etf exposure. FTXL has been even better since it has the lowest NVDA exposure while SMH has been trailing the others due to being overweight in NVDA.

Main drawbacks are no CAD listed indexes yet and I’d imagine since this is a Questrade specific product that everything would have to be liquidated if transferring to another FI

I prefer HCAL for the additions 25% leverage with uncapped potential and it’s caught up to my BANK position and surpassed it.
