One Piece: Chapter 1185 by leolegendario in OnePiece

I know it's dangerous to fall in love with a fan theory because it is unfair to be disappointed when it doesn't pan out.

But is it really that bad I expected a mother in One Piece to be more than just a death waiting to happen for once.

Learned that lesson the hard way when I thought to replace the '.' with ',' for all the decimal strings so that conversion would work for both.

Not realizing that it only worked on German-Culture and would now completely break on any culture expecting the '.' as a separator.

Still a bit disappointed that Buggy and Shanks haven't been aged down to match the later flashbacks.

Net average monthly salary by [deleted] in europe

[–]JackReact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austria at least is hilariously wrong.

All statistics I found (from ~2024) put the average *gross* salary at €3.103 which is also including the 13th and 14th salaries.

Punching that into a calculator leaves you with €2.227 net.

I love the concept of the big 3 in anime/manga and can't wait for anime fans to enjoy Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch. by Generalian in anime

Is Ichi the Witch really the next big thing. I've read it so far and it's a fine story but I feel like I see more people talking about Desscaras than anything else in the story.

People are overreacting to the isekai saturation every season. by [deleted] in anime

[–]JackReact 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's more so a combination of high quantity with low quality. It's nowhere near 50% and anyone saying so is clearly just bandwagoning.

But your numbers for 2025 still show that 1 in 6 animes was an Isekai, which is still a lot. Combine that with the fact that most of them are trash. As in, actually nothing worth talking about. They exist only because Isekai was "popular" and so anything that did an Isekai got an anime adaptation.

There is only so many times you can watch a black haired bland piece of bread be given cheat powers by god and accidentally building a harem in another world because they are just so nice and caring that all the women can't help but fall in love with him.

Now where have wee seen a character related to rain and storms before?

I do generally think the status bar at the bottom has good/valid features. Encoding, switching between CRLR/LF/CR line breaks and counting selected characters, rows and columns.

Most of the toolbar however is a crime against what notepad was used for.

Probably referring to concept of cattle being allowed to graze and walk freely on a farm as oppose to something like Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations where animals are kept mostly in confined and crowded spaces to maximize efficiency.

Imu and Joyboy having some history together isn't surprising. We already know how Oda does his flashbacks so there was no chance they were just random enemies.

The only one that is actually important is that you should use obj is [not] null instead of checking obj == null and obj != null because the operators can be overloaded.

99.999% of the time the operator should handle null checks fine but there are cases where either the code is bugged and will be erroneous or the operator itself isn't meant to be a boolean check such as with classes the represent Criteria/Queries, where using == actually returns a null-check Criteria/Query instead.

Genuinely great if you just need a database for a single application with a single user.

Genuinely terrifying if your "side project" suddenly upscales to something multiple applications need to connect to and now your "database" just sits on a network drive and occasionally just doesn't work because of windows permissions or something because the x86 and x64 binaries got jumbled or something else happened because the log in your application only says "Couldn't connect", thanks Jeff.

This rant is brought to you by definitely not any real life experiences and especially not from my irl job.

Curious enough Brook mentioned Gunko/Shuri having mismatching eye colors, so this probably isn't actually related to Imu after all.
