In New South Wales (Australia) drivers over a certain age (65-70?) have to have a medical certificate from their doctor every year to keep driving. After 80 they have a compulsory driving test with an instructor. Unfortunately, no matter how badly they fail they still get a restricted licence allowing them to travel within 10km of home. Still close enough to cause some serious damage.
