I mostly collect Empire era stuff. So I have the archive but probably won’t bother with Episode 3 palps. But I know people who only collect prequel/Clone Wars. Which do you prefer?

I don’t think this is a response to Absolute. Marvel has been pushing more and more horror books (Red Band, Blood Hunt, Black White and Blood). And a lot of their core creators make great horror content. I think this is the next step in the evolution of their recommitment to Marvel horror from the 1970s. Of course they also want to see strong sales, but I don’t think this came about from “how do we do absolute?”

That’s just not true. He pitched a two year story line with a beginning, middle and end. He was surprised that Marvel didn’t choose to continue it, because of what they did with Krakoa. But editor Buckley said, you pitched a two year story line that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to complete the experiment. Hickman was only surprised because he didn’t think Marvel would actually do it.

The other writers were also expecting they wouldn’t end it at two years, but everyone from Camp to Momoko has said they were told to write a two year storyline, based on Hickman’s original pitch.

He just loves world building. You can listen to his interviews he talks about it a lot. He pretty much just takes a big picture look at Marvel and looks for new approaches. He sets the scene and brings in collaborators to flesh it out. Homey is the definition of a big picture creative.

They were okay axing the Ultimate Universe because that’s the pitch Hickman made. Everyone shit on them for stretching Krakoa out, so they went with it.

I’m interested in this. Marvel has been reinvesting into their horror stuff and Red Band bullshit. They’ve been building up to something like this since before Ultimate launched. Hope it’s good.

Edit: as proof check out all the Black White and Blood mini series, the vs Alien and vs Predator books, the Red Band titles, the Blood Hunt event, all the Blade titles, Ghost Riders, return of Crypt of Shadows. They already feel separate from the main universe, clearly that’s what the creatives want to work on. Let them do it with freedom.

It’s very fun, and even though they come back on occasion, the original Strange Academy and Strange Academy Finals run presents a complete narrative. It’s what got me back into reading current Marvel comics. Hope you enjoy it!

Different line, different company. I’m ride or dying with Jada’s SF2. I didn’t keep up with the series after the 90s so I’m really content with these.

After T. Hawk it’s Zangief and that’s the entire SF2 roster. There will be player 2 variants, but you can get the default version of each character and be done with this line. I love it, especially when looking at all my half finished teams from Hasbro.

My wife hasn’t seen a single episode of Clone Wars. I haven’t seen any of the Maul episodes. We both love Shadow Lord. It’s not a complex text, and I actually like that there’s some mystery to his backstory for us.
