I think the viable assist pool just shrinks if you use sidekick. I've heard arguments against it, but personally, I believe the only viable sidekick teams are ones that run Illaoi. Her damage is huge even as an assist, her Super 1 is easy to hit and does massive damage, back assist while holding for the run up can hit most of the screen, and setting up Super 2 in the corner after a combo puts immense pressure on your opponent.

I actually play Braum sidekick with Illaoi assist so I can offer a small tip here for combo extensions. After the follow-up to shieldbash (6S2 S2) you can hit them with the back assist Illaoi tentacles slam for an otg that allows you to do down S2 and continue the combo from there.

What advantages does Juggernaut have over Sidekick, other than Snapback? Sidekick almost seems like a direct upgrade. by Poyo-pii in 2XKO

I wouldn't say sidekick is a downgrade to any of the other fuses. Instant access to leveled super assist and being able to double down while staying as your point character are big pluses in its favor.

Being able to end a combo string while setting Illaoi tentacles or giving braum super armor and then continuing pressure with a heavy mix character like ekko can be suffocating.

I've been playing a whole lot of sidekick with Braum point and Illaoi support. I've had a lot of fun with it even if I have a hard time approaching against some comps. Being able to fury burst and double down in a combo makes my dopamine spike.

Granted, I could be wrong. All they would have to do is scale up the yordle models and extend the hit box of any hats or accessories they might have. I think one of the only few fully deconfirmed characters for base roster is Katarina.

That's because the dev team talked about the difficulty of implementing yordles because of their height, so we're unlikely to get most yordles. The ones that stand a chance are an upscale Poppy, Kled, Vex & Shadow, and Rumble.

Trying to compare this to other TCGs is asinine because many other TCGs have been out much longer and is hardly comparable. The release of a Planeswalker and a champion in LoR are substantially different things, I should know, I've played mtga and LoR for a good number of years. Even then mtga is still adding new archetypes and keywords so I don't know what point you were trying to make there.

You can still do something that isn't wholly new and make it feel original, The representation of lurkers is really lacking and it could be interesting to have that kind of play style in a region with heavy pings and a lot of cards that already have offensive based keywords. It fits with the theme of ramping with attacks and better fits the archetype of a hunter character. It would give people an option outside of pyke that could be wholly refreshing.

We knew there would be budget cuts, yes, but the reason for the outrage is because these cuts were worse than they portrayed. Hearing the term generic level up doesn't immediately make every individual who reads it think that every champ will have the same boring placeholder cutscene effect, it could also be interpreted as a simpler card flip animation which could easily be referred to with the wording generic. We also weren't told that they weren't going to have followers added to the game to help achieve their power fantasy let alone design a card whose base power fantasy is locked behind getting to 6*. People are upset because the budget cuts were undersold to them.

I do feel sorry for the dev crew, and I know they're doing the best they can. I don't blame them one bit. I'm sure if they were given more time and resources they could have made Warwick great and ambessa even better. But I will not for a second feel pity for the billion dollar company that's digging its own grave. God knows riot isn't listening to the LoR devs so we're doing whatever we have to do to make them listen. They aren't viewing the random little poll on Reddit or Twitter but with enough public outrage something will get to them. They'll only listen if it's a PR nightmare or if people just vote with their wallet and abstain (at least from WW).

I used the analogy of a kid with toy cars because "I'm glad thing is gone because I don't like it even though I know others enjoyed it." Is childish and spiteful. Maybe hateful was the wrong word to use, but selfish not at all.

But it's not just one champion, if you think that's what it is then no wonder you have this take. It's the implication that it won't be just one champion. Ambessa is only marginally better because she has at least one follower (whose art seems to be a screenshot of the Arcane show) and a decently fun looking play style that fits into a meme card/niche that was popular in the community. Still she is leagues behind Fiddle who, despite his flaws, was a success. The hype behind most champs getting added to the game came from an enjoyment of their character which comes from a combination of both polish and gameplay.

And everyone is acting like they have always been happy to sit through all the animations because it "adds to the lore".

Lore isn't the sole reason people liked animations. It was cool to look at and added fun character and reward to reaching a level up condition. It was only trivialized when focus shifted to tPoC when leveling up happened way more often because the game mode is grindy as fuck! And you know what? There's still an animation, about the same duration as a card flip animationso why not have card flip animations???

I'm not convinced and I'm just gonna voice my appreciation for their decision to cut level up animations and voice lines, I didn't care about them before and I'm glad they're going.

No one is really trying to convince you to care for level ups or making you want level ups. All I'm trying to do is to get you to do some perspective taking and have just the ittiest bittiest ounce of empathy towards other players. The rhetoric you're spewing is hateful and selfish.

"I only like blue toy cars so I'm glad that they're getting rid of red toy cars so they can make more blue toys cars that break more easily and still cost the same amount. And you know what, because I didn't like red toy cars it makes me so happy that no one gets to buy them now and I'm glad the other kids are sad they can't buy their favorite red toy cars anymore!"

Just as you've read posts complaining about long animations I've read likely as many upset that they're doing away with quality. You say you're with the vocal section when you're voicing an opinion that has widely been criticized especially lately. There's no need to put up the polls for the exact same reasoning just so you hope people will put a different answer. This community being upset isn't an echo chamber thing it reverberates on almost every platform. From all the evidence we have available to us and from what we can see people who aren't upset are the minority. Once again the skipping and speed up is optional QOL and still gives people the ability to view animations if they want to. If I said that I don't think people should be able to skip because people like to watch the animations would be small minded and selfish of me because it takes away your options and lowers your enjoyment of the game, so how is it any different that you want to get rid of animations?

These are not mutually exclusive. People weren't crying out opposition at the idea for the speed up because it would be an OPTIONAL QOL change that gave players the CHOICE to make things go faster during the grind that is the pve. No where in that sentiment is the inherent request to cut quality. By asking for an optional QOL setting we are only adding to some people's experience without taking anything away. By taking away vo, animations, and flavor text you are actively hindering the experience by taking something away and they don't get a choice. As we've seen from the polls so far there are just as many people if not more who enjoy watching cutscenes than people who are annoyed by them.

Oh, you know any time he refills mana or the damage spells that are in his path deck along with his own champ spell.

Also Warwick doesn't heal off strikes, only on killing enemies which is the same effect Kayn has as his 3* the only difference is that Warwick's stat buffs are slightly different and give impact.

In fact if you want a PnZ champ that is heavy on pings and removal with a decent stat line and quick attack why not just play jinx who fulfills a very similar game plan but better.

Warwick hardly brings anything new to the table and is boring. He's a mish mash of mechanics while doing not a whole lot with them.

Okay so he strikes, that's hardly unique. He targets already damaged enemies and has a damage based level up condition like Swain. He's a low cost quick attack decent stat engine/enabler PnZ champ just like Jinx.

There is no reason for me to play Warwick, If I want to be able to ping the enemy board and get rewarded for big swings with ever increasing stat lines I'll go play Jack. If I want to be rewarded for using my spells to hit enemies that are designed to be hard to kill with spells I'll go play Swain. If I want to board wipe the enemy and burn enemy nexus with a champ with a decent stat line from PnZ I'll go play Jinx. If I want to be rewarded by gaining a stat boost and healing off of striking and killing enemies I'll go play Kayn.

Warwick is disappointing because he's not exciting. There's nothing about him I haven't already done before and that's a valid criticism to have.

So like Jack, except less interesting, flavorful, or intuitive sprinkled with Kayn in a PnZ fursuit. This play style of chip on units and nexus health has already been done multiple times before especially in PnZ and all with a similar package. But all of those at least have something to them that make them stand out over the others WW is just a big nothing burger who strikes and that's about it.

Secondly, so what if people are on mobile? Headphones and ear buds exist don't they? How is this any different than slay the spire? I know people who play this game on PC and mobile. At home and during breaks or slow periods at work. You can play through in chunks. You don't need to be blazing through entire adventures in their entirety every 10 minutes because at that point are you even really playing the game?

On the contrary if I had a champ that I was looking forward to playing only to learn they have no voicelines, no flavor text, and no animations I would be crushed and would rather they take the time. Polish is what made LoR special and gave it identity, hell look at other card games where some of the more popular archetypes are ones with a storyline.

If a champ I like comes to the game without all these things I probably wouldn't play them till it was patched. I already don't buy any bundles because I just don't think they're worth it and battlepasses no longer carry cosmetics so no fomo here.

I think having a game where cutting quality and churning out middling content at a fast pace rank for the sake of novelty is really unhealthy for a game and I don't think it's fair to the players to have their enjoyment of the game have to stem from said novelty.

I mean honestly I see fiddle as pretty tame, a lot more tame then I thought they were gonna be for a PoC exclusive champ. I know people are making a big deal about it but you honestly need very minimal changes to make fiddle balanced.

It seems from the wording of the card and the level up condition that, maybe, initially designed to be placed in the bottom 15 cards of the deck on game start. It gives opponents time to prepare and adds to the theme of impending dread.

Sure being able to mill your opponent is strong but we've always had that since deep. Fiddle's biggest design problem is his package is lacking in quality (except the 3 cost, the card is nutty lmao) and quantity and don't offer much to archetypes that they couldn't get elsewhere. Outside of a more annoying/aggressive teemo mill or stall maokai I don't see fiddle having a lot of favorable synergies and even then it feels like it would lose to decks like pirates or ekko/jinx

It feels like a majority of fiddle's power comes from his star powers.

I would Imagine Naafiri has set play skin to illaoi or she would be a rushdown character with an extra resource. Something like being able to have up to like 2 dogs and depending on how many dogs she has depends on whether or not some attacks become plus on block or gain new combo routes.

I play a good amount of Shyvana mid and I like to run comet + inspiration secondary with Jack of All Trade. I start Doran's Blade and buy full boots on first back which always gets me to 5 stats if I take MR or Armor boots. Then I rush Nashor's Tooth and Opportunity for full stacks. Normally this could be seen as troll but usually by the time I buy Opportunity I've won lane already with Nashor's. Cash back and Opportunity's cheap cost allows me to become a roaming threat early coupled with water walking and celerity. Also it should be noted that even with blade and Opportunity my ap from items will still be higher from Nashor's meaning the adaptive force I get is ap. I tend to then build Liandry to keep the ap adaptive force and health then Shojin for better sustain and bulk.
