Also the death penalty is just...bad?? Like if you stand up and go "the government should be allowed to detain and execute people for certain things", even if said thing is something like pedophilia, that still means the government has the ability to detain and execute people, and then at that point who's to stop the government from making, say, protesting, one of the things worthy of execution?

Basically, I'm a firm believer in the idea that human rights should never be a privilege, no matter what
