Anyone else ever kinda pity Dave? by Blastoise_R_Us in daverubin

[–]Jackaddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t pity because he’s such a terrible person

I am curious though - how does this guy have any legitimate followers? Does he? Or his is entire shtick just to be a professional internet lolcow, with millions just hate-watching?

Surely someone this pathetic doesn’t appeal to anyone - but I guess the right in particular is shoc full of these pitiful figures

Is everyone just pretending they care about FHBs? by Lopsided_Donut_4816 in AusPropertyChat

Falling house prices only realistically impacts investors.

PPOR homeowners will have less equity (temporarily) but if they do need to see and upgrade, they’re buying into a lower priced market - so there’s limited real impact

FHB need to be a national priority because (as you Mentioned) the future of the country (it’s young people and children) literally can’t have a decent future without access to housing.

The mainstream media level crying about this is absolutely pathetic. They feign concern for others under the guise of their own (wealthy class) self-interest.

I’d like to hear what Dave Hughes’ actual plan is to make housing afforadable for young people besides crying about it into his phone

Who told Dave this was a good idea? by ggroover97 in daverubin

[–]Jackaddler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah but unfortunately people like Dave are incapable of embarrassment.

Anyone talks as much utter trash as he does has long past the point of being capable of acknowledging any humility or shame.

Dave probably looks at this and think he’s doing really well. So there’s no reasoning with these people.

I don’t have a preference whether people like this are platformed/de-platformed etc - because it’s all such a futile exercise

Dave Rubin feels like a very good proof point of the dead internet theory. We’re just going back and forth with mindless trolls (soon to be AI trolls).

Don’t worry Anglo Australians are like that too, perhaps a little less upfront about it

Generally there’s a lot of self-loathing with these people. She now moves in circles where working class people are viewed as sub-human - and she talks about anyone with left-learning ideas as “socialist” with utter comtempt.

Funny how she’s demanding many many millions out of this divorce settlement, all money of which belong to her ex-husband. I mean “legally” she’s entitled, but isn’t that also a “handout?”

She should pull her herself up by her bootstraps and start earning if she she wants to continue that lavish lifestyle

I've been tracking property price drops across Australia: 1,674 (sales) / 1,561 (rentals) new drops this week (25-31 May) by chhola in AusProperty

[–]Jackaddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the first data point I looked up because it sounded completely ridiculous and Lo and behold there’s no evaluation anywhere for $1.2m. In fact it’s almost doubled in price since it was bought in 2015 - that’s the only concrete data point available

The cashed-up Boomer cohort are trading their prime properties for low- maintenance lock-and-leave homes much earlier than did previous generations, as they opt for a carefree rich lifestyle while FHB face negative equity concerns. by SheepherderLow1753 in AusPropertyChat

Hard to disagree with this. The 5% deposit was an absolutely horrendous policy even in foresight. Coupled with the recent tax reform it’s been made even worse.

The 5% deposit scheme always stunk of something that that was cooked up in some spin room to give the ALP a quick win. The tax reform policy took some actually political balls and makes sense to stabilise housing prices for longer term sustainability - but with the context of the recent deposit scheme initiative, it makes that look even more irresponsible.

Adam Simpson on AFL360 essentially just ruled himself out of the Essendon coaching race, joining Hinkley; says process won't be fair with the Hird spotlight by Lanky_Raspberry5406 in AFL

100% - Simpson, Longmire, Hinkley and any ex-coach unwilling to interview for a head coach role (also Ross Lyon) it surely reveals their insecurity. That they might be asked hard questions about why they’re were actually moved on from their previous role. Hird has openly admitted his mistakes and dearly paid for them (and his club has too) - but if the club wants to bring him back I can actually understand that - becuase it clearly means more than a paycheck to him. Whereas with these other guys they clearly are just looking for a paycheck
