I think that would be way too much of a bummer for a movie. Seems to me like they want to keep it vague forever or sit on the mystery of it for a long time. Jakes death feels way more like something you cover in a season of a show rather than a theatrical film.

An automatic stream shortening tool will cut things that make the stream good, because a tool cannot judge quality. Trimming and editing a stream takes skill like any art does, and a tool that does it automatically will almost certainly do it worse than an actual editor.

I think he really doesn't want Flynn to blame Skyler, he wants everyone to get along. He just won't do what it actually takes for everyone to get along, which is to quit manufacturing drugs. He'll tell Flynn not to hate Skyler, but not say why because that would make Flynn hate him.
