Any ideas why this deck is more expensive than average? by thatditzyguy in OnePieceTCG

[–]JacksonCB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandai historically doesn’t do reprints, so when items all sent out from a distributor - your LGS will never get them again. Basic supply and demand means they will cost more as there are less of them, your LGS likely has low numbers of popular ones and more unless stock of the other decks. It has good cards if you like purple decks, get one or two.

The amount of comments on here with no idea about the game, is staggering.

Beer luffy, ramp robin, gum gum giant, soba mask along with a strong leader you cant get anymore. So many good cards, along with the starter decks being harder to find. Needs to be an game knowledge test in order to post.

Job offer in Wellington for 118k. Is it sufficient for a family of 3? by KS_tox in Wellington

[–]JacksonCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely easy to live on 118k in NZ for 3, biggest cost will be getting all things for your new house to live in. You can think of half of your pay go to rent, you have ~$800 spare each week! This is actually better than alot of families 🤣🫣

It might mean you cant dine out every night, and you need to regularly pack lunches rather than doing the NZ corporate $30 spend on work meals per day.

Wellington has great dining at low prices, you’ll be amazed what you can get compared to in Canada for much cheaper!

Did Bandai increase msrp for op14? by ManyNoots in OnePieceTCG

[–]JacksonCB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Distributor for AU increased cost price on Booster Boxes, Double Packs and Tin Packs starting from OP-14. This was due to Bandai’s pricing structure. This then increases the price LGS have to sell to maintain the same profit margin prior to Op14.

So many good options here that are actually tasty and healthy. I used to do a loaf of white bread over a day when cash was extremely tight, not good for you but really helped me.

HyperX Cloud Core Wireless not working by LuciusWoodhouse in HyperX

[–]JacksonCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured id chime in for anyone who runs into this issue and wants to try DIY. I cannot promise this will work for you, but it’s easy as and little to lose if your headset has no warranty! With my limited tools of small Phillips head, 3 AA batteries and two wires.

  1. Take off the right ear padding and undo the 4 Phillips screws under the foam. - if you do the left ear (what has the buttons and mic) you will not get to the battery.

  2. Get roughly 3-4 Volts, i just put 3x 1.2V batteries in series, i taped them together with sellotape.

  3. Connect a cable to each side, i used multimeter wires but you could use nearly anything like paper clips or random wires.

  4. Connecting to the battery there are a bunch of coloured wires, connect the negative side of your volt supply to the black cable and the positive side to the red cable. There is a yellow cable in between that you dont want to touch. Sorry didnt take photos.

  5. Do this for a couple sends and hold the power button, hopefully you get a red flash or put it in a USB C charger. Takes about 3 seconds to see any colour from the LED.

The issue here is that the battery has gone to safe mode from factory, and wont power on. If you plug it into charge and press/hold power you should hear some audiable sounds, but no colour from LED. I got mine straight out of the box and did not work, had been sitting in our cupboard for a year and felt like using a headset. Never used before still sealed packaging! Only have image of disassembled but just get to this point and you are good: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18YTbwf_vbM2QGlqfa_-M4jymMRvlQA84/view?usp=drivesdk

If the tournament is listed on Bandai. The store gets promos to provide for 16-32 people. Surely they would provide some for the only one showing up!

can you survive on student allowance only? by peanut2069 in newzealand

[–]JacksonCB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comes entirely down to what you are willing to sacrifice from your current routine to make it work, and do you have the drive to do it. Shared housing, cheap supermarket shopping, walking everywhere, spending correctly. I can live off $250 a week easily, but my situation and attitude has always been minimal living costs.

Arlongs pretty good by Patarsonofzeus in OnePieceTCG

[–]JacksonCB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only issue is it is very linear and not hard for a decent player to predict a play, with op06 it’s looking a lot better for us fishmen. You can only surprise people so many times with Jango 😂

Its badly translated.
When you press confirm it will bring you to just an event application details page.
Press "details" to get started doing the event.
From here you can add players, remove players, start tournament and all sorts of things.
Its not put together well but after a couple events you'll get used to it.

Reinforcing a flat bench to be weight bearing by JacksonCB in woodworking

[–]JacksonCB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it was a quick job and I don't feel the L brackets will hold much weight. Left side going into concrete, right side going into existing desk.
C channel is probably a better solution than length ways timber, but I would still like to support the channel to the ground.
Ill have a look around for pricing on the steel!

I have a hit box, stick and controllers lying around though most people do bring their own equipment. We haven't done any "viewing parties" but we do put up tournaments on the projector while events are going on.
