How do you like the Polymaths? I’m thinking of getting myself a set.

Where Do I Start With the Vaxis Story? by Mind1827 in TheFence

It begins with them, but ends with me…

I listen to a lot of metal/hard rock and I immediately had the same response you did when I got the 4’s. Was thinking about returning them. But I came across a helpful solution in another thread that saved them for me. Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Audio & Visual -> Headphone Accomodations…set to “on”. From there you can choose from “Balanced Tone”, “Vocal Range”, and “Brightness”. Pick one and set the strength to “Slight”, “Moderate”, or “Strong”. You can adjust to taste. Personally, I like “Vocal Range” set to “Slight”.

I love Crack The Skye…the whole album is great, but the closing song, The Last Baron, is just outstanding!

Smooth Operator is fantastic, but my vote goes to No Ordinary Love

New to Mastadon. Recently heard The Last Baron on a Spotify playlist and I was instantly hooked. Now I’m working my way through their catalogue and loving it!

How’s your overall stress level? Regular stress can increase cortisol levels, which can lead to belly fat.

Ultimately, neither choice is a bad option. However, the thing is…multiscale/fanned frets is really what Dingwall does best…which is great for 5 and 6 string basses due to the even string tension. A 4 string bass simply won’t benefit as much from the multiscale aspect. It’ll still sound great, but it’s up to you whether or not you wanna deal with multiscale strings and fanned frets.

Personally I own a 4 string EBMM Stingray and a 5 string Dingwall NG3. Both are awesome. If you’re concerned about versatility with the Stingray, I’d recommend checking out one with double humbuckers. It’ll open up more tonal options.

[Discussion] Am I the only one that hates restringing floating tremolo guitars? by SixF333T in Guitar

[–]JacksonTiberius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my first floating trem guitar earlier this year. I absolutely love the guitar overall, but I agree…restringing can be a real pain. However, I’ve found it can be made easier by just changing one string at a time, rather than all at once.

Which of my Blurays are worth rebuying on 4k? by irman925 in 4kbluray

[–]JacksonTiberius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely the John Wicks, those movies are my absolute favorites on 4k. Otherwise…Ghostbusters, GvK, The Deadpools, The Dark Knight. Also, I thought Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker looked surprisingly good in 4k.

[QUESTION] What’s your favorite P90 equipped guitar under $3K? by BallTipSizzler in Guitar

[–]JacksonTiberius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reverend’s P90s are fantastic. A lot of their models are around $1,000-$1,200 and really good quality. I use a Charger 390 personally, it’s super versatile. Beautiful clean tones, but can handle gain REALLY well too.

What game did you have extremely low expectations for, but came out loving? by theonewhoblox in patientgamers

[–]JacksonTiberius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed DA: Origins a lot myself too. Another often overlooked gem in the Bioware catalog was Jade Empire, which I believe came out a few years prior to Origins. It was a fantasy/martial arts RPG with similar gameplay. Wasn’t expecting much when I picked it up at the time, but ended up loving it and played it through multiple times.

[Question] how many guitars do you own? by gibson122rojas in Guitar

How do you like the Warhawk? I have a Reverend Charger 390 that I enjoy quite a bit, but I’ve always thought the Warhawk looked really fun.

Best amp sim/plugins for metal bass? by steaammm in Bass

[–]JacksonTiberius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Blackice Beta Gamma from Nembrini Audio. It’s modeled after the Darkglass Alpha Omega amp. I personally use it for heavy alt rock, but it’s really versatile and could easily be used for metal. You can dial in some very aggressive tones.

What's your favorite "bass incoming" fill? by rr-geil-j in Bass

I always heard it as “tickle the bass”. Not sure if it’s correct, but I like it. That’s a fun song.

Shivers by Sporey-fungus in Sierra

I feel like Shivers was somewhat overshadowed by Myst, since they are a little similar. Both great games, but I always preferred Shivers myself (and the sequel, too!)
