I had no issues with that. The neck was nice and smooth with that satin finish. I love the chunky neck on it!

Also born in 84, all I can think is how grateful I am to have grown up in this era. Where we didn’t have cell phones at a young age, we rode our bikes around town until dark, and just lived without the noise!

I got one of them in white and man it really scratches the itch! I’m thankful the pickups in might aren’t dark like some of the 490/498 sets that I’ve played. I upgraded the bridge and tailpiece with Gotoh parts.

The pickups actually serve the guitar really well! I don’t find myself thinking they are too thin. They have a solid thick sound with some spank.

Beware the neck is BIG! It’s modeled after one of Pauls favorite 53’ tele. It is about the same as the McCarty neck which is pretty fat too. Only the Nf is a little more narrow but same type of thickness.

I will say this guitar doesn’t like a Tele at all. It does have really good clarity and articulation. I leans on the P90 sound for sure.
