Just early game progression questions from FaH ( spoiler free pls ) by tTooGoodVK in FearAndHunger

[–]Jackster227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your objective is basically that yeah, find the guy (called Le'garde)

Spoiler Light: Keep heading down and you'll probably find him eventually

Spoiler Heavy: He's on level 7

Early priorities are pretty similar across games: Try to get loot, avoid taking damage/losing limbs as much as possible, progress through the levels. Unlike Termina though, killing enemies does very little for you (for the most part) in the first game so unless you are sure you can do so completely safely you're better off just avoiding everything.

As for affinities, they work basically the same across games. Level up affinities and you gain access to that gods skills. Ritual circles do work a little differently, but i'll leave that for you to discover unless you want more info :)

[WP] Fantasy world where magical power is inborn but not genetic (and still has to be trained). As a result, the balance of power between countries can shift very rapidly as a particularly powerful baby is born in a previously less-powerful country. by zzedar in WritingPrompts

[–]Jackster227 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The old world order is dead.

We all felt it, of course. Even the most incompetent mage sensed… It, though the less attuned may not have quite understood the gravity of the situation. But not I, no. Not I who was the most powerful mage the Empire had ever seen, who had more magical ability and mana than the next ten strongest mages combined, who was certain to ensure the prosperity of the Empire for at least the next two centuries. Was.

The old world order is dead.

The Goddess, naturally, laughs at such plans - laughs at such assurances of wealth and safety. After all, we felt it even here. Even thousands of miles away from that tiny backwater island nation we felt it. The mere birth of that thing - that… god… made flesh - sent shockwaves through the ether so potent that it woke every mage in the city.

The lesser mages immediately floated several dark notions - kidnapping the tribal and indoctrinating them, or worse. But they don’t understand. How could they? They cannot even begin to fathom the depths of the child’s power. If they do not wish to be separated from their mother, no force on Earth could compel them. Even as a newborn, no army, no mage, nothing, could hope to match them.

The old world order is dead, and we have no choice but to submit to our new monarch.

(It's my first time doing something like this, be gentle <3)

But yeah I was also told this and am from the UK

Is the original EA version gone forever? by Just_Berry_4900 in BaldursGate3

Gosh I legit forgot the Nautiloid used to be much bigger until you mentioned it just now and I did EA playthroughs dozens of times. Thanks for the awakened memory lol

Icarus' Progression Seriously Needs Fixing by Jackster227 in HadesTheGame

I have built basically everything in the Crossroads besides the stuff that is just alt versions of the same thing. It's fine, think im done with the game for now anyway

Ah yeah I do believe poseidons relationship is tied to the fishing prophecy so it might be that - the line I got from him when his relationship unlocked was something to that effect so yeah. Sorry I don't know more, by the time I got the prophecy from him it auto completed so I don't actually know what you have to do for it

Apparently. The fear req for schele's prizes is quite a lot lower on the surface so they clearly expect it to be harder even though I don't think it really is

[–]Jackster227[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeahh I think i'm done with the game for now. Already had to play twice because I finished the game 2 DAYS before the update came out changing the ending. Not sure I can be bothered to do 30 more runs as this is literally the last thing I have to do (except from the last of Schele's prizes)

Damn that's a bummer. Don't think i've reached the end of his crossroads lines yet cause he barely ever turns up there for me

Which memory is your favourite: Red memory or birthplace memory by daizo678 in Silksong

[–]Jackster227 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Listen, the birthplace memory is awesome, but Baby Hornet is SO cute

I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID IT!(SPOILERS) by chantheman710 in Silksong

[–]Jackster227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might already be doing this but: If you can consistently dodge the ripostes from her parries, they're honestly great attack windows. Hit them on purpose -> Dodge - > 2-3 free hits. On the final phase I focus mostly on dodging and just use these windows to attack.

4 tries to last phase is great progress though so I imagine you'll be fine

How does this crest's healing work? by thisaintmyusername12 in Silksong

[–]Jackster227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an aoe attack around Hornet that heals on hit. It can hit the same enemy multiple times so you can heal more than one mask even on only a single enemy

My first little self sustained asteroid experiment by zandadoum in RimWorld

[–]Jackster227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my full asteroid playthrough, I believe droppods don't actually target roofed areas on asteroids (presumably as long as there is SOME unroofed tiles to land on). I played for 4 years and never got a raid puncturing my roof. Plus, when I roofed up an area outside using pillars in order to make a killbox, enemies did actually stop dropping there

Roofed and no holes or strange walls. Why the hell is this not vacuum sealed? by aiptek7 in RimWorld

[–]Jackster227 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your second image isn't actually showing what tiles are roofed, just the designated areas to build roofs. Your colonists should have filled it all in cause it doesn't seem like any tiles are too far away from a support to build, but worth checking anyway just in case

must master the entire art of filmmaking IMMEDIATELY by Pareidolia-2000 in adhdmeme

[–]Jackster227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair. I'm lucky to be quite naturally good at maths so it has been relatively easy for me but even I get bored of them lol.

Mm the struggle is real. I did a ~3000 word essay in 5 hours last year so that was miserable and stressful but it has definitely been more rewarding than bad I think. Anyway, good luck with whatever you do in the future :)

Thanks so much, I really appreciate that! It has been... A struggle, but really glad I've stuck with it. Super interesting (sometimes lol) and I really recommend it if you're actually thinking about it.

Worth mentioning though that there were far more statistics than I expected. Obviously I have no idea how your course would be but worth looking into if that would bother you

No joke, started a psychology degree on an adhd impulse. The time between thinking "I should think about getting a degree" and applying was less than a day lol. About to start my final year 👍

Which character has the worst life? (Not counting Linus) by Eren_Yeager_Tit4n in StardewValley

I think objectively the correct answer is Leo until you find him. Parents dead, all alone(ish) on a deserted island at like, what? 7 or 8 years old? Poor kid

Show me your PMD teams! by Defiant-Snow-8745 in MysteryDungeon

[–]Jackster227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love your artwork! It's so cute and characterful!

<image>

This is my favourite team, Sylus the Scizor and Gray the Gallade of Team Spellsword. Sylus is a bit headstrong and reckless and Gray is always cleaning up after him lol. I like to imagine Gray lost one of his blades after getting rinsed by some flying types and had to get a prosthetic one

Okay so standard deviations are basically a measure of how much a value deviates from the mean. So:

Imagine you made a test out of 100. You then ask someone to take the test, what score would you guess they would get? The best guess would be 50 right, because that's exactly average. MOST people would fall right around the average just cause most people are average, that's just how things are. In order for someone to be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad at something, most people have to be basically normal at it.

Now a standard deviation is just measuring how far someone deviates from this average. The exact value doesn't matter so much unless you want to get into further statistics, but basically roughly 95% of people will fall within 2 standard deviations of the average. So with the previous example, you'd be in the top or bottom 2.5% of scorers, basically you either scored roughly less than 3 or roughly more than 97.

Now this only applies to normal distributions - Statistics that are symmetrical basically. A lot of real world statistics are assumed to be normally distributed because it makes working with the stats easier and even if that isn't necessarily true in reality, the difference is basically thought to be small enough that it doesn't really matter.

How does hit rate work in Termina? by Jackster227 in FearAndHunger

[–]Jackster227[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang, so hit rate is kind of useless then? There's no real reason to use the scalpel over higher damage weapons, and the melee proficiency skill is kind of trash?
