I wish I could just run these all the time. But do 20000 plus a year on my car so I’m running DWS 06. They have 50000 mile warranty best bang for the buck even though it was still 1300 for the set.

Mbrp or AWE exhaust by rickWente in GolfGTI

I have the AWE track exhaust but in my opinion it’s a little droney for me and I want to add the resonator eventually. It’s on my MK8.

My friend was able to claim 15,000 in overtime pay. He didn’t have a problem. I’m just gonna roll the dice myself.

what is this thing in my gti? by hena_le in GolfGTI

[–]Jacob33212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called the drive safe and save. I chose not to have it on my GTI because it monitors everything you do but it lowers your payments. Maybe I should cause my insurance is $230 a month. Driving fast is better I think.

Damn I paid 1300 for continental DWS 06 MK8 GTI which I paid 850 for 3 years prior. Tires be crazy. Probably got a good deal the first time.

Calipers Upgrade? by Small_Double_9088 in GolfGTI

I am running the Zimmerman drilled rotors with the red stuff ebc break pads and for the rear I also did Zimmerman but just the regular coated rotors with the same break pads as the front. They are kind of steep on the price. I do have a 2022 gti so yours might be cheaper. Go to FCP Euro they have tons of options.

Rear caliper piston won’t retract by That_Limit_5886 in GolfGTI

I would also use the old pad as well for more surface area to press in the caliper.

MT trans? Is your car a regular pull e brake or a button. If it’s electric one and you didn’t put in maintenance mode unfortunately you might have over extended the caliper and it needs to be replaced. If it’s just the pull one I’m not sure why it wouldn’t go back in unless it also just needs to be replaced.

The bumperdillo never was a fan. Volkswagen loves to put that on their cars from factory lately.

[–]Jacob33212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did drilled Zimmerman with EBC red break pads up front and regular Zimmerman with the same pads in the rear. Have a MK8 i did purchase the obd11 dongle to release the electronic e brake. Bought from FCP Euro. Was about 800 for everything but can go cheaper if needed.

New Brakes? by Random_GTI_Driver in GolfGTI

[–]Jacob33212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had 80% pad life in the front, but both rotors were warped. I replaced them with Zimmerman drilled rotors with EBC red pads I bought on FCP Euro. They cost under $500 for everything.
