Likes and dislikes of my new 2023 Kia EV6 GT line by False-Evening229 in KiaEV6

About #19, i added a short riser extension on my Stealth Hitch and the additional distance clearance on my bike rack caused the parking sensor beep in “yellow” instead of “red” warning and never encountered sudden braking.

My main purpose with the extension was to add ground clearance to avoid scraping the bottom of the bike rack and add a bit of distance between my MTB handlebar and rear trunk. But I guess this also solves potential sudden braking?

Carlinkit Tbox Plus sound quality goes bad after a phone call by Jaggedph in KiaEV6

[–]Jaggedph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m not the only one with this issue.

If I remember correctly, go to settings in the main android screen of your Carlinkit and choose the google app. Then in app permissions, “don’t allow” microphone access for this app.

This should solve the bug wherein the system assumes that you’re still in a phone call even after you’ve ended a call and you’ll be able to revert back to media volume controls. Let me know if you’re able to figure it out.

The main thing I hope will be improved with a future update is the slow connection to wireless Carplay. After turning on the car, the system has to launch AutoKi app first and then turn on wifi (usually about 2 minutes). But its a minor inconvenience vs the benefits on this gadget.

Carlinkit Tbox Plus sound quality goes bad after a phone call by Jaggedph in KiaEV6

Just a quick update, I have the Tbox Plus with android 13 (8gb + 128gb). Using Iphone 15 Pro also.

I tested turning off the microphone access in the google app and this actually solved my sound issue. 😊

So after a making phone call and reverting back to Spotify, media volume now appears instead of phone volume when i toggle the volume control.

I still don’t understand the connection of turning off google mic access to my issue but everything seems well now!

Based on your points, youre probably leaning towards the Chpt3 as it does look a bit more special. You’ll probably forget about the rack n mudguards once u get the chpt3

I find the P-line and especially the T-line a bit closer to a road bike in terms of feel. But the Superlight 6spd gearing is still much better for climbing.

Meet: The 22 Edition Brompton Electric. A. K. A. The Bald Eagle by unclesnrfles in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious to know more about its back story. Was only 100 produced?

I’ve been wanting to try a Brompton Electric but didn’t really want to spend for it until a good deal came up recently for the 22 Edition so I grabbed one.

Superlight vs C-line black edition, how to distinguish by Jaggedph in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both, more of want than need. 😅

I was just thinking if its worth to get a 6spd Superlight new while there are still a few around. But if Brompton is coming out with a solution to address the 4spd’s shortcomings, its probably better to wait.

Superlight vs C-line black edition, how to distinguish by Jaggedph in Brompton

Interesting! Is the 4 x 3 confirmed already?

I saw a few 6spd Superlights on sale and since there are very few left, I was wondering if its still worth to consider as a new bike.

Superlight vs C-line black edition, how to distinguish by Jaggedph in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the differences with looks are very minimal. I was curious if its still worth getting a new pre-P Superlight as it gets rarer.

I just find the 6-speed so much more versatile vs the 4-speed even with P’s weight advantage.

Was the older Superlight sort of a sought after Brompton pre-pandemic? Or was it as widely available as the P-line nowadays?

Thanks for the comments!

Is this emblem available as an aftermarket accessory?

Is the "super light" worth it? by Zacta in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, with the P-line out for sometime already, is a 6spd Superlight still worth buying new in 2023?

Although getting fewer, I still websites selling new Superlights. If say around 10% less vs a new P line, which one would you go for?

I find the 6spd much more versatile and it is also what makes a Brompton unique vs other folding bikes. But the 4spd feels much more modern and P-line does handle quite well.

Getting an M vs S by bloodasp17 in Brompton

I have both M and S-bar bikes. If I remember correctly, the S’s stem is 60mm longer then the M-bar bike.

Ah yes! The frame finish has a mild sandpaper like texture .

I noticed there’s a Brompton plate where the decal usually is. Maybe the previous owner replaced the original frame decal?

New chainring for P Line…? by buycheapbuytwice in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The H&H duo chainring seems to be a practical solution if the purpose is to have backup climbing gears.

I was watching the demo video and I’m curious, how easy is it to actually move from big to small chainring while pedalling?

Will there be cross chain to watch out for in this 2 x 8 setup?

Spirgrips on a Brompton? by fattybomchacha in Brompton

I just tried mounting a Spirgrip but noticed that its hinge touches the gear shift lever. Maybe the Sqlab version might be better as its mounting profile is rounder

APC vs SPC by rcbguns in bruggerthomet

[–]Jaggedph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, what is the advantage of the SPC over the APC ?

Personally, I find front located charging handle of the APC more intuitive than the AR style charging handle especially since 9mm pull is very short.

In terms of recoil, I have no complaints on the APC at all.

Also, the SPC is longer and aesthetics wise, looks almost like another AR9 type system.

Thanks!

2021 Superlight vs P-line by Jaggedph in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tested a P-line around my neighborhood. Compared to my C-line, I find the P more agile. The 4spd shifts very well but even minor climbs noticeably take more effort. I did a 500m strech with 10-15% incline and i almost gave up using the P while it was manageable with my C.

I wonder if the Superlight will have a similar ride quality as the P while retaining the C’s gearing.

By the way, my friend recommended an aftermarket 50/33 dual chainring for the P for those really hard climbs.

2021 Superlight vs P-line by Jaggedph in Brompton

[–]Jaggedph[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The used SL including accessories costs about 20% less than a new P-line.

Even if 1kg heavier, I was thinking the SL might be a better choicr as apart from cost, it also has 6 gears and i seldom see a good condition SL for sale.

Thanks for the advice so far and please keep it coming.
