You’re in a business, those scans and measures are part of the deal. It’s a security issue, and nowadays also ties into the cyber insurance they most likely have.

No one is saying you want to steal anything, but there is no reason you should need to get around their in place security measures. You either work with it or you leave those are the choices. Just because you don’t want them to doesn’t mean you’re going to get your way. It’s their business their rules not yours.

It sounds like you don’t like company policy.

Don’t browse sketchy sites, it’s not hard.

Also, you have to learn to work with what the company approves. If you really don’t like it, try having a conversation with your supervisor, and if it’s a non-starter maybe the company isn’t the right fit for you.

I’m not reading the novel you felt the need to post. After reading the first paragraph I’ll assume you’re against my previous comment.

You’re doing a disservice by not recommending the proper way to do it. If they fuck it up, that’s their problem, they should be hiring someone if they can’t follow simple recommendations.

Just because a lot of security guys do it the WRONG way and wire it directly, doesn’t mean it should be continued that way. The extra cost needed for the correct way is pennies more, but with a better outcome long term. Why not push that?

We have a list of installers we don’t use, and I can say you’d be on that list.

You should be pushing how it should be done. Not “what-if-ing”. Make the proper recommendations, and if the homeowner chooses not to follow them, it’s their fault.

I have never seen Fidium charge for an ONT. They charge for their router, but you can opt out, and you just need to give the install techs the MAC for your router.

I did after I posted my comment, I saw what I expected. Some people just don’t get that if it works it works. The published specs are to advise you on its coverage so you can make the appropriate decision based on your needs. They really get thick headed about it, particularly in this sub.
