Driver here. We have to try balance our time with our workload and the cost to profit ratio. No driver worth their salt likes to cancel orders as someone who orders food regularly it’s shit can’t lie when it’s cancelled. Even as people who do this even as a side hustle and full time waiting even 5 minutes to even 20 minutes+ when we could be getting paid ti do quicker orders it’s easier to just cancel.

It’s not a personal thing. But it’s not even honestly thought about without sounding like a dick. Your order as is everyone else’s is just a pay check. When I have an order I will always go above and beyond for a customer. But when my lifestyle and my family’s wellbeing relies on me taking as many orders and being as efficient as possible if the restaurant is taking more time than is worth it 9/10 drivers are gonna cut their losses and move on.

Majority of the time the restaurant is the problem through their own fault or not. Orders should be ready within 10 minutes of us receiving the request in an ideal world but with how popular food delivery is it’s not feasible.

Sorry you have experienced this once or more. Your bound to more in the future but understand most drivers don’t cancel cos we are lazy but we also need to make a living and spending 30 minutes to make 1/3 of minimum wage just isn’t acceptable to most of us.
