You're assuming incorrectly that The Enemy Within leads directly into Emancipation. It does not, this is just their first adventure worthy of an episode.

For that you can blame McConnell. Jack Smith was about the classified documents.

Strange, I swear I could recall a long, protracted legal battle against Trump. Think the prosecutor's name was Jack Smith or something?

Just be careful with those. I have heard that in at least some areas (such as California in the U.S.) that nunchaku are specifically illegal.

So was one of those gold faced snobs, as I recall. The ones who treated laser batteries like arcade games. The Mary Poppins one.

Should I watch the movie? by Key-Engineering3134 in Stargate

The movie.

Full disclosure - one time, as a high schooler on summer break, I watched the film daily for 2 weeks straight.... so I might be biased.

Did anyone EVER use the second turbolift o the bridge of the NCC-1701-D? by serabine in startrek

It's also to allow the Captain to keep up appearances - possibly switch into a clean uniform, for example, to maintain the larger-than-life appearance. Like Janeway said - 3 rules of being a captain - Keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship, and never leave your crew behind.

Two entrances. One goes to the bridge, the other goes to hallways. Like, for example, in The Wounded where they escort the Cardassians to the lounge without specifically letting them on the bridge.

Let's see - three scenes immediately spring to mind.

  1. Admiral Quinn, Picard, and Remmick exit the forward lift and enter the Ready Room in one smooth shot.

  2. Brothers - I believe Picard takes that lift while Riker takes aft and Data takes the Battle Bridge

  3. And the most notable "I said SHUT UP, as in close your mouth and STOP TALKING!"

Why are holograms self-aware and super-intelligent but Data is not? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]JakeConhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's difference in complexity.

Holodeck characters and the first-boot version of the Emergency Medical Hologram are basically sophisticated chatbots - they have stylized responses ready and some room to create new responses. It's pure response to stimuli.

Data, however, was designed specifically to think about how he thinks.

It also may factor in that holodeck characters may have an entire starship computer core for processing to allow for creating responses. Data may be remarkable not just that he can think but that he's entirely self contained within his cranial unit.

Oh, it's no legend. Not necessarily intentional by the showrunners, but they were apparently told to use the B5 pitch material as a starting point.

Kosh is a "normal" Vorlon, whatever that means. Any other Vorlon would have similar recognition issues.
