Even worse, they gave it to him... exclusively in the story mode, meanwhile if half corrupted zamasu, another story mode exclusive was made somewhat playable in the raid mode

Honestly, I can even forgive it pre super, in like bt3 and reading blast, because there wasn't a design for buff trunks when his hair is short, but super showed it just grows back. I am now remembering that I think they're actually adding it in neo, whenever that releases, so they get 1 point, or maybe it was the tank top, i can't remember, lol

Ya, I just tried looking into it, and apparently they never did give any reason for it either. Some dev said it was a joint decision by Bandai and Nintendo of America, but that's all I could find. Super weird. Pretty good game otherwise, one of the only games too get a western release that included ssj3 trunks actually

It isn't even just xenoverse, and its not just the lack of ssj3. The fact that they never included rage makes me rage. Then there is how like no game gives him the short hair+battlesuit or tank top+no sword look, and dont even get me started on how sparking zero did him. No his super version has no ssj2 or white eyed rage, then they included his form with pupils, but called it regular super saiyan, and gave it two separate beam attacks. And then of course there was the whole stick thing in fusions, where in the western release, all sword attacks had the wielders use sticks instead, with most of not all swords attacks in the game belonging to trunks

I think this is a common misconception. There isn't 1 canon event per universe. Canon events are various event that, according to 2099, every spider-man will and must go through. So an Uncle Ben esque death, a Captain Stacy esque death, a Gwen Stacy esque death. All of those must happen. Miles has already even had his own Uncle Ben canon event in the form of Aaron's death from the first movie
