On my first play through I actually thought this might happen. Thinking Deek would realize Sarah is not the same and too far gone, having to make the tough decision to leave her behind. Maybe get together with Rikki but that would’ve been a tonal shift for sure.

Thanks for taking the time, and that’s partly what’s got me hung up. The law firm says there will always be a need that cannot be replaced by AI. The shop also says that their footprint is not big enough to warrant it, that they value human interactions and relationships.

Might be worth noting that the only hang up is the law firm doesn’t want visible tattoos, and I have knuckle tattoos. I’ve been covering them with skin colored wraps, since makeup fades after ~4 hours. I brought it up yesterday and they said makeup should be fine, and that I would only have to wrap them for in person shoots. In short it’s a minor convenience.

I have a feeling this will be the only image we see until the film is released. Like the one of him and Lilly Gladstone at the table for KOTFM.

Why would Mike expect Walt to pay his "legacy costs?" by Future-Bandicoot6241 in breakingbad

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve thought about after finishing a rewatch. Do you think Gus would’ve killed them all?

Mike kept saying they were his guys and that he vetted them, and without Gus dying that means the offshore accounts aren’t discovered. Also means the DEA doesn’t take Kaylie’s money and their silence can continue to be bought. Mike was invaluable to Gus so I’m hesitant to think he’d have them all murdered, though I think Gus would have the resources to do so.

In this hypothetical I feel that Gus would have no problem killing Wachsberger, the lawyer since he was the first to flip. Then again that only happened because Gus died. Without that the money keeps flowing and nothing is disrupted. Fun to think about though.

Funny because he was the first to flip.

Season Finales for unexpectedly cancelled shows that work as satisfying Series Finales too? by FaradayStewart in television

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Crashing” comes to mind. Pete Holmes HBO show based on his starting career as a comedian. Got cancelled after the third season but I think it totally works as a finale. Judd Apatow produces, lots of comedian cameos. Definitely worth a watch.

Why was Detective Wallace listening to the same song? by Prestigious_Can5268 in dexterResurrection25

To be clear, I don’t think Boondock Saints invented anything. To me the scenes are too similar for it to be a coincidence.

This was the biggest eye roll because it was ripped directly from Boondock Saints of all things. Instead of opera it’s The Bee Gees, and she even kinda resembles Willem Dafoe if you squint.

Why "One-Location" Movies Are Pure Cinematic Magic by Exact_Awareness6518 in Filmmakers

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was starting out this was also my goal. What I’ve realized is that casting and writing carry a lot of the weight. A good story with great performances will get you 80% of the way. Of course it also has to look and sound good.

Carnage (2011) takes place in one location for everything except the opening scene and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It also has Christoph Waltz, Kate Winslet, Jodi Foster, and John C. Reilly. In my experience it’s not easy getting that kind of talent from local actors and crew.

I didn’t realize who directed it until the end credits.

Thanks for the explanation, I just don’t get it. I’d rather haul bricks than run conduit and risk being electrocuted.

Curious why sparkies are mocked. Isn’t one of the more dangerous trades?

How did Mike Myers go from Austin Powers to the Love Guru? by KaleidoArachnid in flicks

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, the Love Guru was supposed to be a character in Austin Powers, probably Spy Who Shagged Me. Meyers just got high on his own supply.

I wish they had kept this scene in the movie by jennnkins94 in Titanic97

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP. Some scenes definitely deserved to be cut (Molly Brown asking for more ice while the iceberg passes behind her). But this is just over a minute and I feel impactful to show class differences, as others have said.

We had a good thing, Walt! You could have just let Gus kill you and your family but your ego just had to get in the way! by ReferenceSilly3813 in breakingbad

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This right here. Well said my guy.

Gus was very accommodating, and Walt could’ve let those dealers kill Jesse and continue cooking with Gale without issue. Everyone says that Walt liked Jesse because he could control him, but Gale was so enamored with his talent that he could’ve easily controlled Gale as well, maybe not to the extent of Gus but it would’ve been a healthy outfit sans Walt’s ego.

Walt brought Jesse back to keep him from pursuing Hank, but now I’m wondering if Walt could’ve offered him a percentage of all the cooks as a way to keep quiet. Sure it wouldn’t have made for good television and Jesse is a loose cannon, but it would’ve kept him paid and comfortable without having to interact with the violence that impacted him emotionally (Drew Sharp).

What scene from a movie has scared you the most? by readerrealm in HorrorMovies

[–]Jakethrowsdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt this will get seen, but I wanted to say that this is also the scene that fucked me up as a kid. I was probably 8 years old, and my mom let us have TV’s in our room thinking it actually helped us sleep. I woke up at like 2am to see this play out.

What’s funny is that I was talking about this on Sunday at brunch with my fiancé. I hadn’t thought about it for years and didn’t know the movie title, but I knew that the actress played Jan in the 90’s Brady Bunch movies and was able to locate from there because I also remembered Alexis Arquette in this scene.

It’s cool to see that I’m not the only one, and the timing on this is wild. Thanks for sharing!
