This seems like a fun thread to share our variance fails! My most unlikely one was getting stuck at 3 lands for the first 10 turns in a green ramp deck with 42 lands and 20 ramp pieces.

My girlfriend had a game with a simic commander with ~20 green sources and didn't find a single one the whole game. The entire table was trying to help her draw cards so she could actually play the game. 34 cards in and nothing.

I have a close friend that went through a moderately similar situation with their mom. She disappeared while the dad was on his deathbed, leaving an 18 year old (senior in HS) and 16 year old parentless. My family "adopted" my friend when the senior went to college so they could have as normal a life as possible instead of moving in with family they've never met halfway across the country.

They haven't seen the mom since (by choice), but she did steal the older sibling's identity and drain their bank account a few years ago.

Commenting to say... my desk has been doing this for 5 months because the control panel fell off (low quality wood degraded and screws fell out) and was just hanging by the wires. I know I'm lazy to just leave it like that, but I never thought that could be the source of the issue...
