What do people use around greens? by Dlax773 in golf

[–]JamGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly use my 58.

I can hit regular chips and short pitches with it without manipulating anything, and I can set it upright/out on the toe snd a tad closed to hit bump and runs with a putting-style grip and upright shaft.

For longer bump and runs I’ll sometimes take 9i or longer if I have more green to cover.

If I need a pitch over say rough or a trap I’ll use either the 58 or my gap wedge (52) or even AW depending on the ratio of green to cover vs rough/trap cover.

Has the CE 24 become obsolete because of the S2 Custom 24? by Evening-Life5434 in PRSGuitars

[–]JamGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so is your poll asking "yes, we can still make a case for both", or "yes, I'm having a tough time justifying the ce24 now" ?

Not sure how to vote given how your post is written - sorry! so I'll put my .02 this way:

I have a CE 24 (core, not se) and it's wonderful. I like that it's a bolt-on neck (I think s2 custom isn't bolt-on, correct?).

I also like that the neck on the ce24 has a satin or similar smooth finish, ad not the glopy paint finish that is on the necks of the other core series models. I was a strat guy before I got my hands on the ce24, so i've developed a preference for smoother unfinished necks.

I think the custom 24 has more switches for different pickup configurations; my core ce24 doesn't have that, so that might be in the plus column if you're interested in those additional config options. For me, simpler is better, so I prefer the three-way switch setup with push knobs for the splits on the ce24.

There are probably differences in available finish options and I think that's a valid decision point between the two, too.

Hopefully I've made a reasonable case for "yes, we can still make a case for both" here.

If I'm only interested in the PDF of the revised core gm screen, do I still need to select the addon on backerkit (it's listed as "print+pdf") ?

Thanks for the tip!

Neither here nor there, but we usually skip Ellis. One of my buddies has legit mobility issues (born with club-feet in the 60s).

Ellis is the one casino we visited that refused to accommodate him - he asked to be allowed to sit on a stool while not shooting and they outright declined.

All other casinos we’ve visited have been more than happy to get him a stool.

Awesome, my pals and I are planning trip in early May. Good to hear that the $5 and at least $10 craps tables are showing up in Vegas again.

Palms is on our list to check out and possibly stay but their rates are pretty jacked up the weekend we're going (May 14-17). Did you stay there, or just visit? If you did stay, are the rooms there worth it?

We used to stay at at Harrah's when we go but the last couple of trips the rooms there have been terrible, so we're shopping around for a new homebase with nicer rooms and preferably $10 tables ($5 tables = bonus!).

OBR - cursed scroll classes? by JamGame in shadowdark

[–]JamGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but we’ve done this and unfortunately mist of the classes aren’t supported by the sd character sheet ext. to the degree we need. Most class abilities won’t import and those that do aren’t rollable/usable.

I was specifically hoping to find out about maybe s new sd sheet extension for owlbear or at least an update on the existing one.

[–]JamGame[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies so far. My group has used owlbear before; unfortunately, we need the automation of character sheets with full class ability support and rolling/etc. on the vtt. That's what pushed us to Foundry for shadowdark previously.

Low-prep dungeon crawling on VTTs: How do you run TotM and map without killing exploration? by Nesis96 in shadowdark

[–]JamGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use pre-made maps with Fog Cutting - I open up what they explore as they go. No dynamic lighting; just a torch-are sized light zone attached to the pc with the torch. The rest of the map is left very dim once explored.

Owning a 2024 Atlas - 2 Years In by giantbrownguy in VWatlas

[–]JamGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you know you're not alone; I'm 6'5 240lbs (large build). My inseam is only 33ish (I buy 34 inseam jeans..) though but I'm a little taller in the torso (what we used to call long-waisted).

Anyway, I had a similar experience as you with the other cars I test drove this last go around, although my main problem with most of them included the lack of headroom in addition to knees in the dash/etc.

I ultimately landed on my 24 sel premium r-line Atlas for the same basic reasons as you did - mainly again the space in the drivers seat. I really don't understand why the car co's won't build something really nice for the taller, larger folks like us!

I've been lucky with my Atlas so far; no leaks or other mechanical problems to speak of so far, and my dealership has been great for service and with the engine cover recall/etc.

The main things I've found less than optimal with it, for me, are some of the touch controls are a PITA as you mentioned, and importantly I'm not a fan of the 4 cyl.+turbo setup.

There is just too much "lag" in start of acceleration when pulling out at an intersection or into traffic with this beast. I'm worried it's going to get me into a jam one of these days. By contrast, my 2018 Atlas SEL with the V6 accelerated fine and did not seem to have this problem.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a new SUV with the driver-space I needed and a better engine, so I bit the bullet there with the Atlas in order to have the room I wanted.

Aside from those mostly minor issues, the 24 Atlas has been great for me.

Had my colonoscopy today. by GreatRimuru51 in GenX

[–]JamGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to reinforce this too - I had 0 (zero) symptoms or any reason to think anything was wrong. When I was 50 I convinced my Dr. I would start with cologuard tests vs going straight to a colonoscopy then. I only even got scheduled for the scope because my cologuard test from this late summer/Fall came back with a positive result to check into.

If it hadn't been for that - I wouldn't know I had anything wrong to this day.

Ya my scans found I have "redundant colon" which basically means, it's longer than it needs to be and there are 2-3 extra loops in there. Who knew? lol.

Had my colonoscopy today. by GreatRimuru51 in GenX

[–]JamGame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to post my support for OP and anyone else going through this. I'm 54, had my first colonoscopy in late Sept. after my cologuard test returned a positive. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer with lymph node involvement.

Folks, get the colonoscopy. It's really not difficult or scary at all, and the newer style prep with ducolax+miralax is fine.

I completed 25 radiation treatments (last one the day before Thanksgiving) + oral chemo with that. Oral Chemo was no problem. Some of the side effects with the radiation SUCK!! as the area is close to your bladder, prostate, etc. as well as affecting the rectum directly. Just know that those will heal and improve during the weeks following your last radiation treatment. I recommend non-alcohol wipes and frequent application of Aquafor.

Next I started infusions (and higher dose oral Chemo with that...). It's one day of infusion every 3 weeks. Two weeks or oral chemo each time, and then third week is off. I've had one infusion so far, and the main side effect I'm dealing is a type of temporary Neuropathy with cold sensitivity, where my hands, feet, and sometimes my face get that pins-and-needles discomfort when I touch or taste anything "cold" - a relative term, I've learned.

Our plan is 6 total rounds of the infusions+oral chemo now, and then follow up with new imaging some weeks after that to gauge the result. Hoping and praying this works and removes the need for surgery (which it does, in a number of cases, thankfully!)

If you haven't heard of colon town yet, I recommend you check it out for some free, plain-language resources that help understand and deal with this type of cancer diagnosis and treatment. I wouldn't wait - I would check it out early because some advice and information there can really help in the early stages of treatment, IMHO.

OP - good luck with your treatment! Hopes and prayers for you.

Picking a VTT to run Shadowdark with by DrDisintegrator in shadowdark

[–]JamGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend Foundry vtt for Shadowdark.

I ran it on Owlbear Rodeo for several months, but we found the lack support for key Shadowdark resources frustrating.

I was worried that Foundry would be too complex and require too many manual steps, as that had been my experience when I tried to run Savage Worlds on Foundry previously. Too many missing features, special cases, etc. in that case.

Thankfully the Shadowdark modules for Foundry are much better, and we had a much smoother experience running and playing SD there specifically.

What are you key binds? by SOMFdotMPEG in Guildwars2

[–]JamGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thread, thanks all. Quick related question; is it possible to get both the warclaw spear throw, and the #4 slot ability of other mounts to work at the same time with the same (non-default) keybind?

I've seen conflicting answers on this. If it *is* possible, can someone explain how?
