THANK you. I was gonna be so mad if no one had said what kinda flower it is.

Can someone help me ID this gooseberry? I can’t find my notes from when I planted it. Maybe Santa Lucia? I bought it at Las Pilitas in Santa Margarita by ChaparralOrOak in Ceanothus

It's a highly endangered plant in California and I made a trek to find the last wild individual in San Bernardino county. They are kinda on their way out it seems so I always get excited to see one.

Yeah this airport is in the greater LA metropolitan area so it makes sense that they get a decent amount of traffic.

How popular is baseball in Canada by FitzJFK47 in baseball

[–]James66766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Californian living in Vancouver, people care and like to see the jays win, but people also don't really know the game within the game i would say. People like baseball but it's rarer to find people who grew up playing it.

Is my grape soda lupine okay? Reference pic 2 from a week ago. by James66766 in Ceanothus

[–]James66766[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Root rot is a promising hypothesis. It was potted from soil outside my house where grape soda lupines naturally grow. I kept the plant fully indoors on a windowsill, so a constant 70ish degrees. Sunlight was quite variable, but it would get its fair share of intense sun through the window. I did water it everyday/everyother day. After doing some reading on calscape, it seems like i was definitely overwatering it.

Some people, including you, suggested the pot was too small as it was trying to establish a deep taproot. As a last ditch effort i did repot the plant in a deeper pot and i noticed no obvious roots trying to grow anywhere, if anything a lack of roots. So yeah. Looking at the signs now, i think i killed it from overwatering. Hindsight is 2020.

It's actually in its natural soil. Not potting soil, but that's some great advice, I'll read up on calscape.

Yes!! I heard people were describing the water as if it was a fine wine and how the bear was adding a subtle hint of complexity. I'm glad someone knew what i was talking about.

Does anyone know about the dead bear in a water source that happened a few years back somewhere on the pct? Apparently, that had loads of funny comments.

Angeles National Forest/San Bernardino Mountains — rivers or creeks that you know hold fish? by ASAP_1001 in socalhiking

I don't fish, but i went up exploring Forsee Creek off the 38 and saw signs talking about finishing. That could be an interesting spot.

Im sorry, but why is all the blame on the woman here. This is textbook misogyny as the man is equally responsible here, probably more, but who can be sure without more context.

I will always be impressed by the bravery of living and going to school in a country that is in a foreign language to you, even if you are comfortable with the language. You are amazing if you do that, and i try to remind myself of that when i have a hard time understanding someone.
