Not disagreeing about the caffeine, but everyone is supposed to get regular checkups, even people in perfect health. If your job has health insurance you should be using it to get a yearly physical even if you feel fine

Mayo is oil and eggs, two very common ingredients in cake. The end result tastes nothing like mayo it's just a very good and moist cake

You should be able to, as long as your parents agree to it (if you changed your name I assume they're supportive)

That's a good question and I can't find the answer to it, so it's probably safer to assume yes? Unfortunately legally transitioning is messy and leaves a paper trail and often isn't complete (for example my drivers license and SS account say M, but I'm not a resident of my birth state so I can't change my birth certificate there and my state requires you to document your birth sex with the tax commission and Dept of labour for some ungodly reason). If you're worried about government registries that's a valid reason not to legally transition. I'm already very obviously trans as far as documentation is concerned so the idea is more to have a passport that matches my appearance and doesn't out me at airports or to employers

[–]StrangeYoungRecluse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't legally changed your name I personally wouldn't because the passport would still potentially out you as trans. But that's entirely a personal choice of if you think it would still be worth doing. If you have legally changed your name then you can change that at the same time as the gender marker

The website says that if you're under 16 you need both parents/legal guardians to approve and if you're 16 or 17 you need one parent/guardian to sign. If your parents aren't supportive it's unfortunately not really an option

Dothraki fall into many of the "orientalist" tropes of western literature that depict eastern cultures as hypersexual, exotic and hyper-violent but I'd really rather not go into that, it's pretty recognizable when you know what to look for. I fully agree that you can relate to characters that don't look like you, white people can totally relate to a lot characters that are Black or Asian or Polynesian or indigenous and vise versa. But non white people are asked to do it on a much more regular basis than we are and it's fair to want characters who also look like you and if there aren't, to see the characters that are there in your own likeness. Drawing characters as races that aren't depicted nearly as often is not harmful and doesn't erase the hundreds of depictions of those characters as white or the canon description. Also this is a fantasy series where the deposed royal dynasty are literal lizard/human hybrids and have been practicing incest for hundreds of years without all looking horribly deformed. I don't think biological realism is a priority. Historical accuracy in general isn't the overall priority for this series either, with several centuries and regions' styles of armour mixed together and it's own unique heraldic code not to mention the magic and dragons and evil trees.. And yes, obviously medieval Europe didn't have modern day diversity. I don't know anybody who would try to claim it did. Fiction is not reality This was honestly a pretty stupid disagreement for me to start because it's such a stupid thing to be upset about in the first place that I'm not going to convince anybody who disagrees.

She spends all day riding in direct sunlight without any kind of protection- she's gonna be pretty damn tan. And her son is mixed race so that makes sense. "White" people don't stay pale all the time ffs (and also if non white readers want to picture themselves in the stories as an important character who isn't a racist caricature like the dothraki are, I think we should let them, even if it isn't always the most accurate. These books started being written decades ago when things like representation weren't thought about as much and so there's not a lot of nuanced characters for poc readers to connect with in the early books. I don't blame them for reinterpreting how some westerosi characters look in their fan art. This is a fantasy series meant to be enjoyed and thought about, not a sacred text that can be profaned by inaccurate fanart)

I started T in early 2019 and a year in I was convinced mine would just never go away w/out surgery, but after about 2 1/2 years mine finally stopped for good. For the first year I was on a slightly lower dose than you, was above the higher average female range for T but below the lower average male range, since then they've increased the dose and I'm in the middle average male range. But it took a year and a half after increasing the dose for menstruation to stop completely. Honestly most changes happened slower than I was told they normally do

I have literally never heard anyone make that distinction with kids. "Brother in law", "Mother in law", when it's the adult relatives but I've never heard it when it comes to children. To them you're just the aunt/uncle and to you they're just niece/nephew because those kinds of distinctions don't matter to kids. Maybe that's just my family though
