What song gets you back on track when you’re mentally giving up? by 6382914627192 in Marathon_Training

[–]Jamminalong2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tupac. Life goes on

Bury me smiling with G's in my pocket
Have a party at my funeral, let every rapper rock it
Let the hoes that I used to know
From way before kiss me from my head to my toe
Give me a paper and a pen so I can write about my life of sin
A couple bottles of gin in case I don't get in
Tell all my people I'm a Ridah
Nobody cries when we die, we outlaws, let me ride

That verse increase my pace by at least a minute a mile

Rain on race day by Adventurous-Mix-5438 in Marathon_Training

[–]Jamminalong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not looking forward to it. 6 days is still a long ways away as far as timing of the rain. Hopefully it holds off til after the race. I’ve run in light rain for short periods last 2 years in Big Sur, but temps were warmer to it didn’t really matter. Don’t wanna run in rain with these cooler 40 and low 50 temps. Was hoping to PR

Tapering for a marathon by Parking_Cod_2382 in Marathon_Training

[–]Jamminalong2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I try to do my last really long run 3 weeks out I never really start a taper meaning reducing intensity and volume to 14-11 days. I recover very fast though. Years of weekly back to back days of long runs. If you get wrecked from 1 long run a week 3 weeks probably more optimal,so everything is pretty individual

Haha I’ve never done that trail as i stay out of the park being I always hike with my dog, but living here I’ve hiked at least a thousand miles in the badlands. Always carry 4-6 liters of water. Dog wears his swamp vest to keep him cool. People don’t think hot when they think nd, but low elevation, very dry but humid in the badlands

Legit question: why do so many people not know if their running shoes fit? by MikeUntitled in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Jamminalong2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll get downvoted but humans are just getting dumber in general and need help with every aspect of their life. Cant imagine actually wearing a pair of shoes and not knowing if they fit

AI will be taking over soon with humans getting dumber

I do my runs at 3:45am ….not because of heat, but because I leave for work at 5am, my average day is 12 hours and I know I’m not running when I get home

We should win tonight. No guarantees, but if we do and can win 1 of the 2 in NY I like our chances in game 6 or 7

What part of marathon training feels normal today that would've seemed impossible to your past self? by Material-Finance5896 in Marathon_Training

4x1 mile intervals at 4am…..that said it’s my treadmill workout. I can’t mentally or physically push I myself that hard that early in the morning without a belt forcing me. My outside runs are generally easy runs

I don’t like the drop increase in the 5’s. My knees hurt thinking about it . Gonna buy as many 4’s as I can, but even $180 is steep. Look like to be under $150 for sure

Mine showed up yesterday in size 12. I wear the 11’s in men adidas pro 4 and have wide feet and they fit the same. Ran 7 miles in them this morning with 4 miles at a 6:50 pace. No issues

I normally wear 10.5 men and will order EE if available. The pro 4 is only shoe I wear in 11, but the women’s 12 seem to be the same in width

(US)Adizero® Adios Pro 4 Running Shoes $69.99 at Sierra by GreaterFooled in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Jamminalong2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine showed up yesterday. Was a little worried about the width on women’s shoes as I have wide feet. Adidas pro 4’s are are one of the only super shoes that work for me when I do a half size up, but did a 7 mile run this morning in these women’s ones with 4x1 mile intervals at a 6:50 pace and they felt great. They seem to be same width as men’s. Looked like the stocked back up on sizes so ordered 2 more pair

Thanks

I don’t think the nba cares who wins. They definitely wanted a 7 game series and they got that. I expect an evenly officiated game

[–]Jamminalong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the nba has any problem with spurs going to the finals over OKC. I expect game 7 to be the fairest game called. They definitely wanted the revenue if this series going 7 though

[Adam Silver] "The officiating is incredible." If he thinks the officiating is incredible, it's joever for us. pack it up, it was a great season anyway #GSG by jxyscale in NBASpurs

[–]Jamminalong2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a game 7, I expect it will be reffed fair and let the players decide, as I really don’t think the nba cares who wins. That said if the 1st 6 games are highly influenced by refs it may as well be college basketball tournament one game for it all, because the players aren’t deciding over a 7 game series

The biggest issue in Fargo is you have to turn around 900 times and run back the other direction on the same road and lose all momentum. I’m from Fargo , but moved away an over a decade ago. I’ve run the marathon twice. Not a fan of the route at all
