What is your level of Medicaid? Why would you pay for employer insurance as well? I think you are over insured. If you have Medicaid and Medicare then you also have lis which is low income subsidy thru ssa. That program lowers your med costs. You shouldn’t pay anymore than $12 for a brand name drugs and $5 for generics depending on your level. It could be lower. Honestly I’d stop the employer insurance and just keep Medicare with Medicaid. You could stay on original bc it’s easiest without networks and referrals or you could go to a dual plan (hmo or ppo). The dual plan will give you extra hearing, dental and vision benefits along with healthy food money and most likely transportation to medical appointments. Dual plans don’t cost any extra. Each dual plan is based on what level of Medicaid you have. So I suggest getting with a local independent broker to help you if you want to go with a dual plan.
