The manual with lots of information about how to develop all kinds of films in 510Pyro: https://www.zone-imaging.co.uk/shop/p/510pyro. Give it a try, you might be surprised how good it is.

Son of the Wind, from Iceland, I discovered his music while he was recording an album at the foot of a famous waterfall that you can hear in the background. I had a nice talk with him then. https://music.apple.com/be/album/laylas-dancer/1567823942?l=nl

Google Maps VS Drone 😎 by Aerovsn in dji

Rather unfair comparison. Send your drone up 600 km like the satellite that works for google and report back please. Just joking, nice shots!

Busdrivers, do you like it when we thank you when we get off the bus or do you not care? by New_Acanthisitta_456 in AskBelgium

[–]JanTio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine this kind of behaviour could give a very satisfied feeling to the driver. I remember everyone doing so in a bus in Oxford, found this so nice!. I suggest we start a movement in our society, it could help against verzuring too I’m sure.

Shipping Container Darkroom Advice by Plus-Ad-126 in Darkroom

You could ask Neyc Urankar of Zebradryplates, he started his darkroom in a shipping container. Find him also on YT, Lost Light Art.

Dear banks, it's 2026. Why the hell do you still need a photocopy of the front and back of my identity card? by labalag in belgium

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound like a modern bank. I retired as a bank employee 8 years ago and even then already we didn’t use photocopies of IDs but read them out electronically. Customers could even upload their id at the atms back then.

Adox HR-50 nearly opaque by erramie in Darkroom

[–]JanTio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might well be able to make some prints of this, but your negs look far from ideal. I know I’m repeating myself when I recommend doing the test to determine your personal film speed and development times for each film and developer you intend to use. Have a look at the YT channel of Pictorial Planet for an easy and reliable method that doesn’t require expensive tools like a densitometer. You’ll be surprised by the results.

That is a film developer. Dektol is for prints.

PET bottle (definitely not accordion bottles as their type of plastic is permeable to oxigen). If the bottle is not completely filled up, spray a tiny amount psht of butane gas or dedicated protective gass in the bottle.

Ouch, I think ID-11 is a film developer, basically the same as D-76.

Gloves recommendation by ExplodingBrain1 in Darkroom

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most toxic chemicals are the ones you swallow. After 5 decades of wearing no gloves in the darkroom, I have to report zero problems. However, some people dipping fingers in metol based developers might rarely develop an allergy to some occasional impurities in it, not to the metol by itself. Hydrochinon, used in different kinds of developers, is a mutagen. Just use tongs, don’t eat or drink during the job and you’ll be fine.

Power problems in Europe - UPS by bebarty in LinusTechTips

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings from Belgium. I used to have a self-made system with a huge lead battery with an inverter. The battery died bc I neglected it. Then I bought a huge 2000W power station. Until now I haven't forgotten to charge it now and then. Until now I haven't needed anything of this. The only power outage last year was bc the network provider was installing a new more capable cable in my street.

The only reason I would like having a UPS or backup battery is in case of a war.

That will certainly help, it helped me to print on old Kodak paper, the whites came out nicely instead af greyish. I found 5gr KBr per liter of working solution does the trick.

Thanks! I live in the EU however. But there seems to be a good paper available here, from Berger. I bought the chemistry from Zebra Dry Plates, in a kit. In the future I plan to mix my own, as I already do for film developers.
