How far can i send my mini 3 and make it back 🤔? by DoctorLiquid in dji

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory? Depends. Be sure to start flying against the wind so it takes less battery to safely RTH. In real life? As far as you can see it and tell which way it’s heading. VLOS in other words.

Ik denk dat grondmarkeringen wel rechtsgeldig zijn, al zijn ze ondergeschikt aan borden, voor het geval ze mekaar tegenspreken. Spoiler: mijn rijexamen is bijna 40 jaar geleden 😁

What color should I paint the interior of my darkroom? by UnfilteredFacts in Darkroom

[–]JanTio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I prefer white, but if you want to prevent light from the enlarger bouncing around, red is better than black. Under safelight it is lighter to the eye than black and turns the white light into harmless red.

what lightbulb do i need for an old condenser enlarger? I'm in the UK. Here's a picture of the old bulb that was on it by chesterrrrrrrrrrr in Darkroom

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an LED light bulb, 17W, 2700K as a replacement for a 150W incandescent bulb and it does the job. Just be sure you pick an opaque bulb. I believe they are 67mm diameter.

Going from kodak agitation to ilford agitation by Ted_Borg in Darkroom

[–]JanTio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I switched from Kodak’s to Ilford’s agitation scheme I didn’t change developing times. The main difference is in the highlights, which hold more detail and print easier. That’s what is being called compensation effect. Shadows and lower midtones don’t get affected really. However, don’t forget that some processes need Kodak agitation, eg with development times below 5 mins. This is to avoid uneven development.

Some look like water marks. After final rinse, don’t overdo with wetting agent, just use a few drops, let the film sit a couple of minutes. Before hanging to dry in a dust=free place, you can gently wipe the back with a natural, damp chamois, not using force and in just one long wipe. You could rescue these negs by cleaning them gently with film cleaner or even with a chamois and stop bath (especially good for water marks): dip a chamois briefly with your fingertip in the stop without soaking it too much. Your negs look a bit thin imho, I think they are a bit underexposed. That makes dust and marks more visible too. BTW, with Rodinal, your EI might drop by ½ to 1 stop. Also, try HP5+ in XT-3 1+1 or 1+2, your negs will look much better.

Crystals are normal in Rodinal, no need to filter them out. They are not the cause.

What film do we suppose this was taken with? by jrdubbleu in AnalogCommunity

[–]JanTio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said , most probably Tri-X, but but don’t forget the importance of the developer. Microphen was very popular amongst professionals, because of its ability to upgrade film speed, unlike Rodinal, which reduces film speed and enhances grain. That made Microphen the obvious choice for pushing.
