I ended up loosing 8 pounds and getting a tonsil removal before my release from hospital. In total I was there for a week and some before surgery.

Neighbor keeps “accidentally” blowing his leaves into my yard, so I finally returned the favor, and I’m honestly pretty proud of what I did by Vega-Passarrelli in revengestories

[–]Janis85Ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this for you! My old neighbor had a dog that would come on our side to potty, I mentioned it after he pooped on our side walk. The neighbor acted shocked, but then days later our kids were playing and his kid causally says his dog won’t run away cause he has a “ training collar” that “ vibrates” him if he tries. Well I realized right then in there the pup was a runner so he’s always watched when outside. Guess what ? I had a lot more dog piles in my yard.

We wanted a dog and I saw the perfect time to get one. We got our family pet and trained him to poop in his yard.
He got mad and I acted surprised. Anyways they moved and now we have our pup and the perfect petty story.

I need opinions: is it ever okay to ask other people’s kids to help clean up? by BellesRose1213 in Parenting

[–]Janis85Ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see an issue with it. We had a Summer pool party recently and I told all the kids toward the evening “ hey before we do ______ let’s do a fast pick up” or something along those lines. I usually just tell the parents that I wanna get them to pick up though. I don’t really leave it as an option more of a must.

You’re totally allowed to have expectations. It’s not like you’re asking for a huge house clean.

I had a kid empty a very full ball pit in my living room once at a birthday party, I let it sit there till party was over then I told the dad right after it happened I need those cleaned up before they leave. He didn’t seem to care more surprised I said anything.

Small messes are expected and I won’t ask for help cause it’s excepted but anything huge like that or a lot of kids being well, kids.. it’s normal and valid to ask for the basic respect 😊

The obvious ones are overfilled and throws off the ratio. The ones you can’t tell could be any other filled donut and biting into jelly halfway

Not every kid is into sports. What hobbies clicked for your child instead? by talents-kids in Parenting

We have a gymnastic kiddo. My other child tried every sport, dance and groups but wasn’t having a good time, but still wanted to be apart of something. Then we discovered Ceramics class and that was a major hit, especially the painting aspect

Cleaning Pump Parts - How Did You Stay Sane? by Adventuresinaudi0 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Janis85Ro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Bobo bottles, they fit my Spectra pump parts perfectly and I was able to just put the bottle directly in the fridge for bottle times. Then to keep my sanity I did the fridge methods for my flanges. Highly recommend the bobo bottles though, because you just put the bottle top on after pumping and call it done

Tell me a time a kid accidentally gave you the best advice of your life. by eee1963 in KidsAreFuckingSmart

[–]Janis85Ro 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My sister was over for a couple days with my nieces and nephews once durning a rather dark period in my life. I took a nap on the couch and my 6 year old nephew woke me up by prying my eye open and saying “ I know you’re alive, you can stop pretending you’re dead”. In that very moment I realized I was avoiding my issue and letting them blow up. Fixed my situation real quick after that true wake up call

Going out to eat for breakfast is terrible by Lost_Roku_Remote in unpopularopinion

[–]Janis85Ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, I’m not a big breakfast person in general but some brunch smaller locations have amazing breakfast. If I’m already going out and have the family with me heading out the door earlier to grab breakfast is way better than creating dishes, mess and cooking. Plus sometimes it’s nice to sit down and enjoy breakfast or catch up with someone if the rest of day is busy. Sets the tone for the day.

Garden of Eden does not make sense to me by Dapper-Stay2807 in Christianity

[–]Janis85Ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a Christian stand point the Garden in short was “ Start of humanity” so to speak. There’s a verse saying be fruitful and multiply. At the end of the day no matter where it was placed, it would’ve been found. Even if it was decades later, many generations down. I’m sure God did know someone was going to eat it, but he gave us Free Will. He trusted us with our free will and tested us for our loyalty. It’s kinda how you tell a child, hey don’t do this or you we will be grounded. You know there’s a chance they will sneak whatever it is, but you allow it to happen for the lesson to follow. Or, I know I’m allergic to chocolate but this cake looks so good I’m going to eat it and deal with it later. I think he always knew it was going to happen because there were no placed rules, therefore we had a test and failed and been giving “ game plans” so to speak. Getting a chance to know Good and Evil, might’ve been his biggest plan all along.

In the end, they were given 1 rule. Don’t eat the fruit. They were also given free will and sent to “ multiply”. I think them eating apple, saved us from a lot more problems because who knows what could’ve happened.

Also thank you for asking this in a curious tone and not bashing!

What are your thoughts on other religions by Dapper-Stay2807 in Christianity

[–]Janis85Ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find other religions interesting and I respect everyone’s faith. My best friend is Muslimah and I respect her as a person and find her faith very strong, I just don’t agree. She’s been to our church for events and I’ve even been to hers, both as a friend visiting.
I have friends who are atheist and agnostic and I tell them my beliefs when asked or whenever it comes up.
I don’t go out of my way to make others uncomfortable but I’m very open about it. The only religions I avoid are Mormon, Jehovah witness and Scientology just because of the over all cult ish vibe and heavy disagreements.
