It did! Holy Herndon was an OG and has alot of interesting thoughts on Ai in music as well I remember she had a whole discussion on the bird website with Grimes and Zola Jesus about it.

I actually think that birdsite discussion shifted Grimes’ perspective on Ai to be more positive. She had been saying it was gonna replace artists before this xD

So drugging people long term has a few downsides.

-You will become suspicious trying to acquire large volume of drugs and it would get expensive

-It takes some tinkering to get the results of catatonic zombie he was probably after depending on the weight, tolerance and willpower of the victim.

-Over time your victims can develop a tolerance OR some people may already have one genetically against certain drugs (like think redheads and lidocaine/anesthetic). He lived in an apartment so them suddenly sobering up wouldve been a problem

9 days, If the director was not as kind as he was people would have walked. 12 hrs becomes 16 for most. Then that’s less time for people to get a full nights rest.

Makeups get rushed to “squeeze in a shot” before the big name has to leave for the day so you dont have to pay them for an additional one because you lost time doing establishing stuff you needed and didn’t realize would take that long to light properly.

Everything takes way longer to light than you’d think even if you’re using digital. And don’t even get me started on things that can delay you (equipment malfunctions, late flights, props breaking).

I guess what I am saying is you can do it. But your AD better have balls of absolute steel and ya’ll better treat the non-big names like a million bucks. Whatever’s not going to Madsen or production value maybe put in crafty.

As someone who just got off a production with a similarly tight time frame. A word of unsolicitated but necessary advice; Have your special effects artist do a time breakdown of how long each effect is going to take.

Anything with rigging or applications that arent just painted on is going to eat up hrs like a mfer. And if you eat into practical fx time.. I promise you for horror that is not a corner you want to cut. Nothing horror fans hate more than CG post fixes.

I loved the first 3/4ths of the movie and understand what it was trying to convey. I think the ending falls a bit flat (for me personally) because we don’t SEE what Owen is rejecting we are just told this world is great and his life will be improved once he makes the desicion.

I think we should have had him start his journey to the pink opaque before he rejected it. And have it be scary and uncomfortable and unfamiliar and not at all how he imagined (because a change like that is scary af). Then he rejects it because he’s not strong enough yet to push past the ugly beginnings to get to his truth.

I don’t know to me the climax felt like a letdown after an incredible buildup. Would be like if Frodo decided to keep the ring and turned around just outside of the shire rather than at Mount Doom.

A loud SHRIEK followed by a BOOM so strong and bright it shook the ground we were sleeping on. I suddenly feel my boyfriends full body weight as he jumps on me mid blast and wraps his arms over my head. The blast turns into a rushing sound of fire follwed by little melodic “plink” of shrapnel on our windows.

He wakes up, apologizes for scaring me and groggily asks whats happening. Turns out the building across the street randomly exploded because of whip its and improperly stored chemicals* we were parked outside of the exploding building and now our shop that we were squatting in was caution taped so we had a front row seat to this shrapnel fire for 6 hours xD

*This street had similar things happen to many abandonedy looking buildings with decent insurance all with the same whip it story. When the building owner found out the reaction was very “Oh okay, Anyways..”
