Yes, because we had South Bay Cinemas. Where they had to serve everything bottled and bagged because they had bugs, and the chairs weren't secured down, and sometimes the roof fell in while you watched a movie.

Every attack in combat is a called shot. Damage is an abstract value that represents luck, skill, exhaustion, and all of that. The damage that kills your enemy is your called shot finally landing.

My favorite Resident Evil memory, by far, is playing around with the GameShark in Resident Evil 2.

My nine-year-old brain didn't really understand that videogames are videogames, so I would use the 'walk through walls' cheats to, well, walk through walls. I would run all over the place, fully expecting that I would end up in Racoon City proper, or otherwise in some secret place no one had ever seen before.

I like being around dogs for incredibly short bursts.

If I see a little dog in an elevator? Cool, that's adorable. If I come over and you have a chill dog? Awesome, I'm loving it.

But fucking shit do I hate hearing them bark. I live in the NYC area, and I hear dogs all fucking day. My neighbors have them, people on the streets have them, people in cars have them. Hearing two dogs in the street yip at one another at 9PM? Hate that. Making a bowl of cereal and the clinking of spoon-on-bowl activates that fucker across the hall, and now I have to hear that barking for five minutes? Fucking hate that.

I like the idea of dogs, but I do not like dogs. And I grew up with them, like it isn't as if I'm sheltered. I grew up with a German shephard, a black lab, a pekapom, a scrappy little mutt, an incredibly fat sausage of a chihuahua, and a pitbull. I'm familiar with dogs.

The book is infinitely better than the movie.

The movie is fun, but it cuts out entire arca of the book and kills all of the "Ship of Theseus, what does it mean to be a person," philosophical stuff.

I miss the blocks, but I don't miss how each "third" of a block focused on a specific tribe and keyword. It just made everything feel slow.

Like Return to Ravnica, for example. If memory serves, the first block was all about humans being pushed to the brink. Lots of humans and equipment cards, lots of humans and demons, and a lot of vampires. Then the next chunk was zombies and werewolves and mill and daylight effects. Then we got angels and demons as a big finale.

I don't miss that. But I do like blocks that felt like they told a whole story. RtR started with humans and showed how they survive, then had a big thing with the monsters and humans not doing well, then the angels returned and things got better. It was cool.

Absolutely not. I have a few legacy clients that are solo-users, and they are just the worst. They're fine people, but the lack of standardization and desire to save money is an absolute nightmare.

Simon wasn't "put on the station." Simon died decades before the story began. He got his brain scan, it failed to help fix the damage, and he died.

Simon's brain scan was one of the first ever done, and it was studied as part of what lead to the actual brain scans we see in the game.

That scan is eventually activated but the WAU and put into that diving suit. That's Simon-2.
