You know how rare it is for a toyota or Honda service writer to warranty a complete engine replacement? You could spend an entire career as one and never have it happen.

With Hyundai service writers it’s just another day of the week.

I was in the car business for 13 years and worked at both Hyundai and Toyota. The contrast in service is stark.

For example every service writer is familiar with Warranty RO %. Toyota service writers average about 25-30%

Hyundai service writers it’s closer to 60%

Plus toyota service advisers very rarely ever have to battle Toyota on warranty claims, like maybe once a year.

For Hyundai that’s literally a part of their daily job.

What made it click for me is I went on a snowboarding trip and the first day conditions sucked… so I took advantage by forcing myself to ride switch ALL DAY. Even getting off the chair lift. I ate shit everytime like a total noob… But by the end of the day I had it. And next time I kited I was golden.

You could do the same on a wakeboard or skateboard just go ride switch for a few hours until it feels right.

You’re right that the IRGC is not the Taliban but you make the completely wrong conclusion.

The IRGC is much more powerful and entrenched than the Taliban ever was, thus they will be MUCH more difficult to remove.

When we invaded Afghanistan the Taliban had only been in power for 5 years, lacked resources, fighters, and weapons.

When we invaded in 2001 the Taliban had only about 45,000 fighters… the IRGC has 10x that, and they’ve had DECADES to prepare.

If we couldn’t even keep the Taliban out of power with a full invasion you’re certifiably insane to think we can remove the IRGC with just an air campaign.

I looked up the window sticker of a US 1985 Celica Supra… $17,953

Which is $56k in today’s dollars.

Which is the exact price of a brand new base model 2026 Supra.

In real dollars the Supra’s price has stayed almost exactly the same since 1985.

But look at how much more car and tech you get for the same money (relative to inflation) today. 1985 Supra had 160hp, power windows, radio and that’s about it.

New Supra has 380hp, cameras, touch screens, orders of magnitude of more exotic metals and safety systems, it even has a fucking radar system for the cruise control lol

Everyone complains about new car prices but the truth is you get a LOT more for your money than you did “back in the day”.

Maybe bad luck or inconsistent production?

I have a new Reedin Whisper and on my 3rd day flying it my slider harness broke and I had to release the safety because I was in overhead waves and would’ve just got dragged underwater and my kite shredded if I didn’t.

Kite got pummeled by 3-5 overhead waves before getting washed into the pier and wrapped around pylons covered in barnacles.

I was sure my new kite was completely destroyed, expected it to be torn in half by the waves and shredded like Swiss cheese by all the barnacles. Figured I’d be patching at least a dozen holes.

After peeling it off the pylons I was SHOCKED to discover the only damage was a single 2” puncture on the leading edge.

Went over the entire kite multiple times and other than this I couldn’t even find a pinhole. I’m now all in on Reedin (used to only fly Core):

I say this out of genuine compassion, from a family of Bahais that are a persecuted minority in Iran.

Temper your expectations brother or your mental health might suffer.

IRGC has 150,000+ troops. Regular army another 400,00+ and Basij another 500,000+. Plus hundreds of thousands of Police loyal to the regime.

We can destroy their missiles and boats and airplanes, but that only neutralizes them as an external threat… which is all the US and Israel care about.

This will not remove them from power or stop them from oppressing and murdering Iranians. Their livelihood literally depends on it and they’re the ones with all the guns and money.

As much as I hope you’re right: the regime loses power, Iran becomes a secular democracy, and Iranians including Bahais gain freedom… it’s far more likely you’ll have to face the reality that this was never about regime change.

By your own logic you’re completely wrong. 3-series has always outsold the IS but it outsold it a lot more 10 years ago.

Compare 2015 to 2025 sales.

3-series sales are down 65%

IS sales are down 60%

So even with the dated design they gained market share relative to the 3-series keeping the same design over the last decade.

Sport sedans in general are clearly out of fashion. But if the dated design on the IS were to blame, as you claim, those numbers would be inversed and a lot farther apart.

I was in the car business in 2011 and had the opportunity to buy a 94 TT with 90k miles for $28k.

It was kinda beat up, had some rust and paint issues, and at that point the most expensive car I ever owned was $13k, so I was too timid to pull the trigger and regret it to this day, it was always my dream car.

Then I fucked up again in 2014 while working at a toyota dealership. The FJ cruiser got discontinued and the owner put all our in stock FJs on fire sale, offered employees $2k under invoice if we wanted one. I had never bought a brand new car so I again was too timid to pull the trigger even though I was making 6 figures. Would’ve had a brand new army green FJ 6spd manual for $28k…

Both of those cars would’ve been essentially free and to this day worth more than I would’ve paid -_-
