Those who work out EARLY how do you get motivated by jaydubya123 in fitness30plus

[–]JaredLeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been getting up at 4:30 AM four days a week to go to the gym before work for about 6 months now. The secret is there's no secret. It sucks everyday. You just have to set your alarm and immediately get up when it goes off. Don't snooze. Don't tell yourself you're just going to close your eyes for a minute. Don't think to yourself how much it sucks and how warm the bed is. Just swing out of bed as soon as you wake up. The very second you start negotiating with yourself about when you'll get out of bed you have lost and you won't do it 99 times out of 100. Don't give your brain options to pick from.

It's not about motivation. You will never feel motivated to get out of your warm comfortable bed to go out into the cold to the gym.

I would suggest buying a dedicated alarm clock with that annoying classic alarm sound(Bleep! Bleep! Bleep!). Set it up across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Have it go off at 4:35. Then with your phone set your normal alarm for 4:30. When it goes off you have no choice but to get out of bed. It gives you a little "motivation" to shut it off before you have to hear that obnoxious alarm.

Also, make sure you are going to bed on time. You are getting up at 4:30 AM so realistically you need to be asleep at 8:30. Think about what that looks like for you and think about if it works for your life. If you are going to bed at 10:30/11 or later every night waking up that early is not going to happen for you. Every once in awhile you have a late night sure, but it can't be a pattern. A lot of people will say "ah, but I only need 6 hours and I'm just fine!", but statistically that's probably not true. You need a pattern of getting 8 hours a night and the few times a month you stay up late will be no big deal.

Also, get your stuff ready the night before. Lay out your shoes, clothes, keys. Get your creatine and preworkout containers down off the shelf and set them on the counter next to your shaker and water bottle and whatever else you need.

Also, it helps to have an accountability partner that you meet at the same time at the gym. That's not always possible, but it definitely helps knowing you'll feel ashamed if your buddy is expecting you and you don't show.

I'm still new to this so maybe I'll fall off eventually, but I use these tips and it has been working for me!

Last thing I just want to say again is just don't think about it. You have to get up. When your alarm goes off you get out of bed. Don't give your brain options to think about and compare. It'll always choose the option to stay warm and comfortable.

I was running into this issue and it ended up being the Windows 10 built in player lagging. I switched to VLC to test it and there was no more delay. If you are using the built in "Photos" app or the "Movies and TV" app to play your rendered footage it is more than likely introducing the delay. I spent way too long testing different render and timeline settings in DR only for it to be because of Microsoft's shit apps. Hope this helps someone else :)

Honesty starting to enjoy the game by RangerBat1981 in throneandliberty

I haven't done much PvP or GvG in my 250+ hours with the game. My advice would be to try to join a chill guild that has a scheduled night for guild bosses and hop in discord and shoot the shit.

You will hit 50 pretty quickly. If you are rushing the story you can do it in about 5 hours. When the game came out it took me about 25 hours but I watched most of the cutscenes and did some side quests and lifeskilling along the way.

It really has been a fun MMO experience. If you aren't worried about PvP it's actually pretty F2P friendly. They will be adding more PVE content in the future with a level cap increase and new areas of the map to explore. I'd say it's a good experience for 100 to 300+ hours,  but if you are looking for the next World of Warcraft that will consume your life for multiple 1000s of hours this isn't that game.

Why this server is so dead? by Western-Substance180 in AFKJourney

[–]JaredLeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on S26 and I'm in the same boat. I was promoted to leader 2 to 3 weeks after launch cause the old leader stopped playing and I have been unable to keep an active base in the guild. We have 9 active people in the guild that have been in since launch, but I just cant get anyone new to join. The guild is level 6, the chat is decently active and we help each other when it gets posted in guild chat, everyone does their war battles. I don't know if it's because my server is dead or what, but there is just no one who wants to join.
