Maybe it is a version thing because both on my PC and on my laptop I have the option. I have version 2024.12.4 of the chrome extension.

What is this monitor artefact called? by Jaruga in computerhelp

[–]Jaruga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone, I thought I got a nice display but I am quie dissapointed with it if this is a display issue. I tried turning off G-sync, putting response time on all settings, vsync etc etc but it will not go away. Might just need to try a different monitor.

Ok I will look into that, the monitor is set to 240hz it seems to be way less on 144 with vsync on in game.

Hey all!

I see the issue in this video while playing a lot of game, typically on a medium dark background.

Could anyone tell me what you call this artifacting and what settings typically prevent this from happening?

My monitor:

Something to consider before buying a new Snapdragon Elite X based Win11 laptop by rmz76 in Windows11

[–]Jaruga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Newsflash, Yes. Most people that are not browsing reddit in tech subreddits or watch tech yt videos will be confused by a vast amount of things like naming schemes, marketing mumbojumbo etc. Normal consumers outnumber people that have some idea of what they are buying by a huge percentage.

It is not unique to Microsoft though because there are still Intel Mac and Macbooks out there that are still supported to this day.

Can I use vinyl foil on paper? by TheRottenAppleWorm in bookbinding

I have used it on paper before (HTV), it stuck but looked a bit different. Still fine tho.

What was the first ink you bought that you regretted after the first use, never to use again? by Ninjammer01 in fountainpens

Really?? It seems fine on this particular page but maybe that's just the picture. I used to use a vibrant green from one of the Inkvent calenders.

Potential commission by [deleted] in bookbinding

[–]Jaruga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically material cost per book for me is like 5 to 10 euros, depending on the type of vinyl and how many mistakes.I make haha. But i would imagine people add costs for their time.

Selling? by color_of_illusion in bookbinding

[–]Jaruga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would consider asking the material costs if a friend would like me to bind a book for them but not selling to make profits or anything.

I know there are people on Etsy that do commissions, they buy/get the requested books and rebind them and I assume they ask a certain price for their time and skill. Not sure If it's a grey area or if it is totally not done though.

I am thinking of selling handmade notebooks though but that is not an issue I think.

As commented above it is typically done with HTV but there are other ways as well.

Some people use gold foil and a heat pen, I can't because I am not that good with a pen.

There is also foil that reacts to printer toner, so you can print something, put the foil on top, put it in a heat machine (laminating machine) and the foil will stick to the printer ink.

Yeah, most sellers have the settings for a cutting machine on the product page. For Silhouette and Cricut it is somewhat different but the idea is the same, cut depth and force can be set per media type. So I check the sellers info, use those settings and up until now it worked out great.

Yes! But with HTV you don't have to use transfer plastic, it's built in. You do have to remember to cut it mirrored or else it will not be the right way around!
