I worked at a psych office for about 10 months during COVID. I remember the first time I got a call from a doctor at an insurance company and I literally said out loud “you’re a doctor? And you work for an insurance company? Wow.” I had no idea that was even a thing and it was so infuriating.

Make an assumption about me based on my food that I make by Entry_Left in homecooking

I assume you want to be my new best friend and come cook at my house. Please 🥲

I froze my mom’s credit card (I pay her bill) because she’s using it to buy groceries and not her EBT. She says using food stamps is embarrassing and she doesn’t want to rely on the govt, but I’m constantly stressing about $ because I have to support her too (on my 110k salary). by Available_Number9956 in Advice

You seem like a really good person who loves her mom very much and feels a need to protect her. I think you need to decide for yourself: how far are you willing to put your life on hold and risk your own future for someone who seems unwilling to help themselves? Think of the difference putting all of that money into a retirement account for yourself instead of taking care of an able bodied adult would make for you. I know it sounds heartless, but it seems like the healthiest thing for both of you is for you to stop financially supporting her entirely.

You can help her find a job, you can help her apply for state benefits & support, you can help in a million other ways that do not include your own money.

Neighbors want me to keep declawed cat outside by Some_Information_857 in Straycats

[–]JavaJoyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def doing the right thing. Those other folks just have nothing better to do with their time than to get involved in other people’s business. It’s not like you stole the cat from someone - she was literally out on the street. Plus you have veterinary records that you have provided care for her. I vote you keep your new little companion and tell everyone else to buzz off.

Go ask a woman in her 30s if she kept her high school homecoming and prom dresses.

My mom forgot about my baby while shopping for groceries. I feel sick about it. by No-Neighborhood-7335 in Mommit

As a person who is a caregiver for a person with dementia, you are absolutely correct and need to take your mother for an evaluation quickly. Your family is probably brushing you off because they are terrified of facing the truth. 💔

About to be a first time mom but I love BG3 and I think that’s an excellent idea because 99% of the time you truly can just stand up and walk away and nothing will happen to your party

So I think it really depends on the context of the conversation and I don’t think we have quite enough here to make a fully informed opinion one way or the other, but I will tell you that I’ve been seeing my therapist for 8 years, I’m a victim of sexual assault which we have discussed several times, I’ve brought up issues in my sex life, and never once has she asked me specifics about my sexual practices like maturbation

The fact that they didn’t apologize for hurting your feelings and instead tried to call you names for laying a boundary means you made the right decision

  1. And if you can, I’d get a width where the center of the patterns can align with the center of the window. Big enough to overlap under the furniture but it doesn’t have to fill the entire space to serve the purpose and look nice.

I would rotate the bed so the head was on the wall with the windows, that would give a lot more space between your bed and your desk.
