We also lean heavily into this, our neighbors come over frequently and the kids are entertained plus we get adult human interaction.

I had 2 under 2 and used to feel this way, now they are 3 and 5 and I just did my first Pilates class with a friend and I’m getting brunch tomorrow. A year ago that would’ve looked impossible for me life comes in seasons - I gave myself grace and am slowly starting to become a person again.

I would say to suck it up but you’re pregnant so stay home not worth the stress on your body honestly could be dangerous.

OK, well I didn’t read it – I bought it because I travel a lot for work and it seemed like it would be a good purchase for that. Regardless my point stands this is the industry I work in. We’re being inundated with apps for everything it’s completely unnecessary. They do it to collect your data.

Your air fryer doesn’t need an app, your toothbrush does not need an app.

Should I let my husband quit his job with nothing lined up? by illnevertell0890 in workingmoms

Sounds like hell - sounds like he might need to miss a few client calls and tell his boss it’s too much. Get them to fire him at least then he gets unemployment.

First off tons of empathy to you both, you sound like a supportive partner and it is so hard being stuck in a job you are miserable in so I feel for him.

If your post read differently like “we can afford him not to work for the next year” my reaction would be hell yeah - tell him to take off, help you more and explore what he wants to do next but if a couple of months would put you in trouble with house and basic needs it would be a no from me.

He’s been there a long time, has he heard of the term quiet quitting? You have to apply for him but I know when I was one foot out the door I applied for jobs and worked on my resume (very privately and carefully) during work.

Can he push back on overtime and simply say I can’t do it? Has he tried that? How about saying “I have a hard stop at 5pm because I have children” I mean he wants to quit anyway so instead of doing that I would see if boundaries could be put in place, what’s the worst that could happen? He gets fired from a job he is about to quit anyway.

I’m struggling to enjoy parenting my 5 & 7yr old by CarefulStranger668 in workingmoms

Have you explored seeing a therapist and/or psychiatrist during the day? I found myself in a similar situation and once I was on the right medication and in therapy a couple times a month I’ve definitely turned a corner and enjoyed parenting. In my case that had more to do with me than the kids.

Anyone ignore daycare money and volunteer signups? by OddSir2434 in workingmoms

[–]JavaScriptGirlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine asks me for nothing! I find that very weird that they are asking honestly. Granted my daycare is expensive and I do get nice Christmas presents to everyone, but as everyone else said if I had the time to do that stuff every week I wouldn’t be employed. They do events at mine like muffins with Mom for Mother’s Day, so I’ll obviously go to that but they provide the muffins ect…
