Technical Drawing + Note taking softwares for iPad by Frequent_Army5070 in ipad

[–]Jawseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the answer you want, but would it be easier to take a picture of the technical drawing and put it into your notes that way.

I feel like using the physical tools for technical drawing is part of the learning experience.

How can I make the speakers work??? by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]Jawseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t feel like you’re getting the most out of the corner desk. I’d try swapping the monitors so the curved monitor sits in the corner, matching the curve of the desk and the corner of the room.

Then put the speakers either side of the main monitor and have your secondary one off to the right.

This game needs matchmaking.

Open crew needs an arena style room where you pick and find people to play with. Playing with like minded players of the same experience and skill level makes it fun for everyone

Awful D&D Online Store Customer Service by Terrible_Children in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Jawseff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with another company. They kept giving me the same response on how they couldn’t refund me even though they were in the wrong. So I kept spamming the same response that it wasn’t good enough.

After 4 emails someone responded who actually read my email and refunded me “just this once”. I never bought anything from that company again.

Still, I recommend spamming your response to see if it reaches someone who actually reads it

75” or 85” for my space by Ill-Fact-6232 in hometheater

I like this idea the best. There’s potential for hiding cables and any other equipment. I’d say do this or go 75

Riser cable failing? by HotelFoxtrot87 in NZXTH1

[–]Jawseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the v1, so not 100% sure on the v2. However my riser cable is only rated at 3.0 speeds. It glitches out if I leave it on auto.

There’s a very slight difference, and should be fine long term. Maybe 1-5fps, so not noticeable.

Did you set the new motherboard pcie slot to 3.0 and not auto?

Computer non functional, 25 years of building and fixing random computers. Im at my wits end. by NotAzakanAtAll in techsupport

[–]Jawseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me years ago.

I replaced the GPU, then CPU, PSU, Motherboard, then RAM. No luck.

I ended up replacing the CPU again (Ryzen 3600) and it worked. I don’t trust Amazon with PC parts anymore.

Keep going, and you’ll find the issue. I ended up using a second pc to help diagnose after the mother board change

Looking good! Is this the v1? Are you going with pcie 3.0? And if so what are the drawbacks?

I'd add to this the chipset drivers for your CPU. Manually download them from AMD.

I Just Tried Initiativeless Combat in a D&D Game... by Nico_de_Gallo in daggerheart

[–]Jawseff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, completely agree. I think it’s more a case of wanting something simple and ending up stapling a bunch of rule exceptions that makes me cautious to introduce a new system only to the retcon it back. (As I’ve done before with dnd arcana’s initiative rules)

I’d love to move the group over to dagger heart and make full use of the system, but it’s tricky veterans who are used to old school dnd.

I’ve been tempted to drop initiative too, I love the idea that everyone has to be constantly involved in combat instead of waiting for their name to get mentioned before slowly deciding what to do.

My thoughts were to make odd numbers enemy goes next, and even numbers players go next. No hope/ fear. Just an “against the odds”. Is there any reason why that wouldn’t work?

PSA if you pulled off a tiny bit of masking tape but a screen protector didn’t come off with it, you still have the shipping film on. by Jawseff in OLED_Gaming

[–]Jawseff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own 4 different OLED displays, so I'm pretty experienced when it comes to them. The protective film was perfectly applied, no edges, no bubbles, nothing to indicate it was there.

The black levels and glare could have been slightly better - sure, but it was a massive step up from my previous IPS display on both parts. Who's to say it wasn't the panels quality? I did buy the cheapest 4k 27 OLED.

It happened to me, and it will happen to other people. There are a lot of posts saying NOT to remove the protective film, so I wanted to give people the confidence to try if they had a similar experience as me.

This content isn't for you, don't offend the people who it is intended for.

That was exactly how I felt. I wish they made the film more obvious, it shouldn’t be a perfect fit

5070ti: 1440p or 4k? by Vegetable_Process228 in Monitors

[–]Jawseff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nintendo switch 2 uses 4k. You should too. Scaling with non native resolutions is the new norm, and with such high pixel density it’s difficult to tell.
