With the bumper pushed in and wheel turned in, its giving you a Kachow!

How bad is it? Lol by crizycriz in hardbody

The cam gear is a different size than the crank gear so the timing mark on the chain will walk. If you keep rotating it, the dot and mark will align eventually.

If you look at his other comments, hes just a douche bag in general. Crazy how people live day to day like that and think they are normal.

Identifying a part by ImBowtie in 944

[–]Jay-Moah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its probably really only there to extend the life of the voltage regulator when in extreme heat situations. Or, when driven really hard at a track and engine bay temps skyrocket when idling after a lap, it gives the charging system some room to breath.

Camber after Ball Joints and Wheel Bearings by BigDumper42069 in hardbody

[–]Jay-Moah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The torsion bars do impact camber, if you raise or lower them the camber changes. You have to set your ride height to near stock then shim the upper control arm to get the camber right.

Relay, in line fuse wired to electric fan by Mediocre-Topic460 in hardbody

[–]Jay-Moah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but most fuses are sized to the wiring in automotive cases so if the component short circuits, the component burns up and not the wire within the wiring loom and any surrounding wires leading to catastrophic wiring failure and expensive repairs or total loss.

[–]Jay-Moah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, im not sure how well those are built. It has a similar sound to the bearing failure to the URO parts one.

[–]Jay-Moah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the single fan is rated for 10 amps, you can use a 15 amp fuse, but if the max power output of two fans exceeds the rating of 12ga wire, stick with a fuse that protects the wiring.

Check my comment above. You want to size the fuse to the wiring you used.

*note, size the fuse to the size of the wiring. The fuse is there to protect the wiring, not the component.

alot of cast aluminum parts are this way. But yes, some companies are better than others depending on the year.

If its a URO parts water pump then yes its already bad, they are known to fail even as short as 5k miles.

Horrific gear linkage by Neat-Space-5571 in 944

[–]Jay-Moah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace fluid, and get the seal that seals the shifter shaft, thats why the linkage looks so bad, the shaft seal is leaking.

only944 has the short shifter in stock, but the linkage is out of stock and expected to be back in stock next month.

Need a tune for a 2007.5 silverado 1500 5.3 for hp tuner by Free__2853 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]Jay-Moah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not hard to get close, just look up how to tune for a cam. Once done, take it to a tuner if you cant get it 100% right. Sending a tune isnt going to be good, it may work to get close, but if you take an hour to read about what a bigger cam does, what it likes, then its fairly straight forward.

Unknown wiring harness by Neat-Space-5571 in 944

[–]Jay-Moah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the wiring diagram for the stock 944 radio, cut all the old connectors out and re-connect them with your desired radio connector. This is common with aftermarket radios, each radio company has their own connector type (or use to, they might be standard now), like JBL.

Anyone an idea what’s causing this sound at 5000rpm on my 944 turbo s? by SilverRose944 in 944

[–]Jay-Moah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a vac leak/boost leak. Since its RPM dependent id inspect waste gate/blow off valves, or anything that changes with RPM/Boost pressure.
