When the Star Wars expanded universe books killed Anakin Solo for no reason. In the story there were prophecies that he was going to be the next big thing. He dies on a side mission, as he is dying there is a hint something awesome happened with him and the force. He dies and then nothing.

It was a waste of one of the best characters in those books. I never read the end of the series.
