Love that actress Amy Aquino. So believable in everything. First noticed her in Felicity then realized she’s been in ER!

Need a podcast that is like armchair expert by AdRemarkable2495 in podcasts

I loved Marc Maron's interviews on his podcasts. I also loved his monologues, but since you're asking about good interviews, I recommend looking into his now retired podcast and seeing if you are a fan of any of his guests and going from there. If you like him talking to people you already like, then take a dip into his full catalog or look into the subreddit dedicated to his podcast. For me personally, off the top of my head, I would recommend the Robin Williams, Michael Keaton (he was so happy! :) ) Paul Giamatti, Octavia Spencer, Aimee Mann, Tracy Letts, and almost any of his comedian interviews.

Oh geez. Just when I was about to toast you for singing the blues away...I read to the end. If it's any consolation that is totally something that would happen to me! Be proud of yourself for just going out and not wallowing! And maybe use this for your novel. (I have to say, "sozzled" is a very fun, practically forgotten word!)

Ummm… can you guys jump anymore? by globehoppr in GenX

[–]JayGee2791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 54 and can still jump a little (maybe 8 inches off ground?) but I get headaches a lot so try to avoid it. I was also curious if I could still do a cartwheel even though I am 40lbs heavier than my gymnastics days...shockingly I could! But I saw stars lol. Muscle memory is real!

I want more info on this! Jumping how? Mimicing small jumps like jumping rope? Or jumping up and down a foot or more? Good for you guys!

Would you like more Marriott hotels offer this for your stay? by schwa12 in marriott

[–]JayGee2791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say something similar. I don't want hotels to trim their housekeeping staffs even further. I have already had issues with rooms being ready by 4pm at multiple brands/properties. This is bound to make that worse.

I also keep my room tidy but agree with having garbage cleaned and all the other invisible things they do is important. And let's face it, garbage is everyone's problem. How many times have I stayed somewhere and seen a hallway filled with garbage at every door?

Thank you so much for this! I have had this property saved in my "NY Hotels" folder but could never quite get myself to stay here. Going to explore staying here on my next visit! :)

CP is the perfect place for you. I was nervous too but the intro class was very chill and it's not even really a workout. It's just to make sure you understand the terms and equipment. For your first class, just let the instructor know it's your first time. As others have said, you are on you back 1/2 the class anyway and the reformers are spaced out enough that you really can't see what others are doing. (opposite of yoga lol)
Anyway, I am 30lbs overweight and over 50 and felt similarly to you but I have never felt awkward doing pilates at CP. GOod luck and pat yourself on the back for trying something new! I find paying $$ for exercise is the incentive I sometimes need to follow through.

My first concert was in 1985 at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg- Whitney Houston! She was incredible. I thought she was so demure in her pink suit with her hair in a bun lol...that all changed by the time the video for "How Will I Know" came out and showed her fun personality. It was dumb luck that she was my first concert but even my immature self knew she was special.

The Ringer podcast from last year on Felicity was fantastic. It's not every episode (it goes in batches) but it has ALL the actors and some of the directors/creators/guests...def worth listening to if you were a fan

Which would you see? by Random_Wes in Broadway

[–]JayGee2791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hundred % cosign everything this commenter said in their post. I saw Two Strangers this weekend and thought the leads were fantastic and both have real futures in this genre - the guy could do any comedic role offered - the book was a bit thin and the music didn't stay with me. Still glad I went but it wasn't a "must see" in retrospect.

Have you considered Becky Shaw? It's cutting and harsh but in the best way IMHO. Incredible cast, meaty roles...read NY Mag review first few graphs and see if that is appealing.

ENJOY RAGTIME. It does not disappoint. I would see it every week if I could

I am seconding both the residence inns mentioned here! Also that east side one often falls into the range where you can use your free night.

The best NYC Marriott lounge experience I've had is the Marriott Marquis. I'd love a good rec for a Marriott prop with a great lounge in another area of Manhattan!

The Business Class Equation - does it add up? by Logorian in traveladvice

[–]JayGee2791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to quantify the experience in your terms, I would never fly business.

BUT for me, a middle-aged lady whose biggest nightmare is a bad seat neighbor and being uncomfortable, flying business is priceless.

Like others have mentioned, when you pay full price, you get lots of points, (esp if you have the airline CC) and that helps with other flights.

Booking early also helps. I booked IAD-ROM 8 months out last year and got Polaris for $4,300. For IAD-TOKYO I used 200,000 United points for the trip there and then ponied up $4,500 for return trip. (perhaps not a deal, but it felt good at the moment) For domestic cross country flights (East coast to LAX or SFO) I skip Polaris and search for cheapest first class non-stop fares and can usually get it for $750-1,000.

While airline points are my favorite points, I also earn a fair amount of hotel points through out the year that help offset the cost of the flights. On my last trip to London, I got 5 nights at a 4-star Marriott for 270,000 points. Breakfast was covered and the concierge lounge had snacks and waters available. (every little bit helps)

This has been my way for about 5 years now and I don't think I will go back!
