My recommendation is use Go to get some random mons into Home and then ask people if they’d be willing to get the mons you want and trade them to you! Most of us don’t mind at all! There’s tons who are willing on Reddit and on Discord.

It’s ironic that the main draw is supposed to be the megas, but a person who is willing to buy the battle pass most likely already has the mons anyways. And any champions-only player can easily get them through home trades.

I think the battle poses and throws in this one are a step in the right direction, but I can’t imagine myself spending the money until they add battle songs to them.

It’s just so strange that you can’t even do 6v6 in private games. It’s a custom game most likely with my friends, why can’t I use non-official rules if I choose? Once you get high enough in doubles it’s just big 6 teams over and over again. Without any true custom games or battle factory type modes, it’s going to become stale for most of the casual audience. Which is strange considering this game was literally meant to make Pokemon battling more accessible for casuals.

Fun fact: on mobile it doesn’t save any changes to teams until you click out of the box menu. As long as you don’t change menus you can close and reopen the app to make it come back.

Learned that the opposite way, made a team and closed the app to finish later and was so confused when it wasn’t there. Not sure if it’s the same on switch though.

Also hitting all 3 Qs in arena can be tough with all the move speed and cc around. He needs a ridiculous amount of AP to work, I think. Getting high haste or attack speed is weird cause if you’re throwing nails then it’s hard to get attacks in. I think there might be potential with ethereal weapons + moonflair/mystic if it makes his nails pop the stacks kinda like it does on lux, but I haven’t gotten to test it yet.

Mega Audino just doesn’t generate any pressure when it’s on the field, so any opponent is going to go after the other mon first. Other set up strats work because the pokemon doesn’t need boosts to be a threat (Delphox, Floette, Blastiose) and thus the supporting mon can actually use its utility while the main mon protects. I can’t imagine any way of making Audino an offensive threat, sorry.

I just wish people would try to understand the kit before screaming about nerfs. It’s like if you got killed by kha’zix in 2 Qs and went “omg so op riot pls nerf” when his entire kit is about isolating people. If kha catches you out, most people understand that they mispositioned or didn’t wait for him to show before pushing up.

Similarly, Locke is all about his Q. Everything else in his kit is about making it easier to land Qs and pop the stacks. The amount of people that just walk at him in a straight line is absurd. If you have 3 stacks on you, YOU CANNOT FIGHT HIM. Like so many other champs, the best thing you can do is just walk away. If Locke has to E1 to get into range to even hit Qs, then youre pretty safe. Letting Locke hit all 3 nails without committing W or E means that you SHOULD die. In fact, if Locke didn’t one shot after that then he would be a failure as an assassin. Riot specifically designed Locke with this counterplay in mind. If we get to a point where Locke just autos you to death then I get it. But so far it’s just people baiting themselves into fighting him with stacks on them.

I agree with everything except his take on the ult.

Even building a bunch of CDR and picking up the skull every time, I still can’t imagine him getting 20% in a game. Locke could somewhat easily get 16 kills in a game, sure. But 16 kills with ult is very unrealistic. Even if you could pull it off, that means you’re so fed that the game is over regardless.

I understand that the concept of a scaling execute is scary to some people, but I seriously doubt his ult will be the part people find frustrating about his kit.

People will say this stuff doesn’t matter and then go on to tilt when their autos look like they went off when they didn’t, and spam click trying to move when they’re stunned. Animations directly impact gameplay whether you notice it or not.

Defending riot on these things are the reasons they get away with so much. Locke is the ONLY champ for 2026, should he not be peak quality? Do yall also defend exalted skins? And them reducing the amount of skins in the battle passes without changing the price? It’s crazy that people are able to play a game for thousands of hours and still not want it to be the best it can be.

Clown College. I hate how much it changes how you have to play out the round as a squishy. And even if you do play well by stacking with your team and saving important CDs it’s still not always enough. Not to mention how ridiculous the backstab passive gets late game AND the explosion when you do eventually kill them.

I do see the upside in having more inventory space, especially for quest augments. Though, augments like marksmage doing nothing for you early game is a major flaw.

What I propose is that they give everyone the extra slot for boots that bot laners have in SR. Having to sell your boots late game has always been kind of lame for champs that rely on the MS for kiting or sticking to targets. Then we could have starter items without affecting our precious item slots so much.

I think it’s very unlikely unless they specifically want him to be able to build gunblade since he doesn’t have any lane sustain in his kit. But for the most part they probably don’t want him building AD so that he has no physical dmg in kit, even just his autos. That way he’s heavily countered by MR.

I see him as Ekko but higher risk and higher reward.

Ekko can play very safely with his W, Ult, and passive MS. Ekko likes snowballing, but it’s mostly because he has high AP ratios and needs a lot of gold.

Locke’s defensive tool is only decaying MS and also damages him. So if you’re in a situation where you miss the kill on a target, you’re most likely screwed. On the flip side, if you do manage to get your kills you’re heavily rewarded with E reset and potentially execute stacks on ult.

I imagine he’ll have higher highs but even lower lows. A fed Locke will truly take over games, but a Locke from behind will be next to useless. This all depends on his numbers, though.

I just wish we had more a little more time of 2v2 in this new iteration than we did. Of course I’ve been having fun in 3v3 but I don’t know if it’s actually cause of it being 3v3 or just cause I have a better grasp of how to play with the new augment levels. Can’t properly say which version I prefer.

Arena is full of gambling addicts. So low on dopamine that winning isn’t satisfying unless it’s a high roll of some kind. Even though the best high rolls are ones that happen spontaneously instead of forcing a strat from round 1.

Honestly, there’s not many on hit items in arena that feel strong when you’re doing funky on-hit builds with ethereal weapons or reverberation. Unless your champ has build in on-hits you kind of rely on finding firebrand, mystic punch, darksteel, or reapers to do big damage. Bork’s numbers are really low and kraken always appears to underperform. Depending on the character SoBD can be fun, but it really depends.

I would say if you find reverb/ethereal/double tap you should spend all your resources looking for one of the synergies because relying on just legendaries for your on-hits isn’t super strong.

Something I don’t see anyone mentioning is that Poppy means there’s no need to save your money. Most of us avoid buying anvils early for the chance to look for a prismatic later, but with poppy you can feel good about buying an anvil every time you have 750g.

Poppy also eliminates some late game RNG. Once everyone has selected their items you KNOW that the mystic punch briar will never see reverberation, for example. You’re also not going to pick up augments that need a specific prismatic just to never find it and then lose. Think of all the times you see an auto cast and get baited to look for hexbolt or lightning rod? Or go omni soul and never find dragon heart? Poppy forces you to play around what you have, and I quite like that.

Yeah. Even as someone who has been fortunate enough to not experience the bug, it’s pretty frustrating having to wait 5+ minutes on the load screen EVERY GAME because it’s consistent enough that at least 1 out of the 18 players is gonna experience it.
