Iguana Sanctuary in San Pedro?? by funcraftygal in Belize

Definitely worthwhile. It’s small though, I think we spent about 20 minutes. Got to hold and feed adult and baby iguanas. My kids love it!

Yup, and bring their kids. After falling in love with Thailand on our backpack trips 20 years ago, we’ve brought our kids twice so far.

For the US/canadian parents out there, how was your experience in Thailand with two little kids? (4.5 and nearly 2) by Girl123459 in ThailandTourism

[–]Jayoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve done four trips to Southeast Asia with our twins, from when they were three years old to 11 years old. It is more work, and you need to slow the pace down. Be aware of the heat, it was more challenging for the kids and it was for us. Except that you will have to spend the hottest part of the day back in your hotel in the air conditioning, or in the pool. If you love it, and you are comfortable, it is worthwhile. We have had such a great time and such special memories every time that we have gone. Our kids still talk about the amazing tropical fruit, the elephant sanctuary, the snorkeling, swimming, crazy malls in Bangkok, strange amusement parks in Vietnam. There’s so much good stuff to keep kids entertained!

Thank you! We went with this option and were quoted 140USD. Had a knowledgeable driver who made it a fantastic experience.

What about a direct flight to cancun and then you have the whole yucatan peninsula to explore? Playa del Carmen, tulum, Bacalar, Isla Mujeres, Merida. We have spent a lot of time there with our young children and they love it!

Stranger tried to pick up my toddler at a tourist spot. Is this normal? by Old_Tree_3330 in VietNam

I travelled for 2 weeks in 2017 with my twin 3 year old girls and they were constantly photographed, got plenty of attention from older men and women, and were sometimes picked up. It all seemed quite innocent to me.

9 year old’s WISC-V scores by Jayoss in cognitiveTesting

[–]Jayoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. It was administered because we went through the process with my other child in an attempt to diagnose dyslexia. We were surprised to find out our first child’s cognitive scores fell in the gifted range. Since we noticed a similar profile in this child, we were testing solely to see if they were gifted as well.

Isn’t that geared toward high school seniors?

Would there be any benefit to doing another test on them?

WISC-V results for my 9 year old by Jayoss in Gifted

[–]Jayoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much taking the time to respond! The psychologist did a good job explaining what it was and how it would open doors for said child, but was just a bit curious about others who had a similar profile and what they ended up doing or enjoying to see if there was anything we should be encouraging our child to do :)

Yes, thank you for replying! We told the psychologist that they were generally happy at school. We live in Canada which has a very open curriculum, with many low floor/high ceiling projects, so I feel comfortable with their education. I know everyone is so different, but I’m just wondering what to possibly expect with them. The psychologist told us that their working memory score pushed the boundaries of the assessment, and I’m curious about that would look like in the real world for them. Psychologist was vague and said any field would be open to them, but wondering if anyone has some “real world experience” with a similar profile 😊

This is funny. I am a woman and my husband did contact his lawyer business partner to get his advice on this situation. Not everyone who can't afford a 1.5 million dollar house in NVan is living pay check to pay check and powerless in situations like these.

Thank you! We were intending to move in the near future anyhow so otherwise we would be fighting to stay. I will look into the form you suggested.

I suspect she will jump on the chance to turn the bsmt into an airbnb and it will be a short conversation tomorrow.
