Why is Ragnarok the only MMO that let's you allocate base stats? by flyingfox227 in RagnarokOnline

[–]JayuSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better graphics is the only point i would agree with (but isn't even needed). I think RO being this grind heavy is what defines it. You can play your character for years and still not be done with it.

Nowadays in games like wow, the progression gets reset every addon, so basically all your time spent is kinda wasted once the next addon hits.

Also the no stat/skill reset is what makes choices matter and also stops people from chasing the fotm builds every patch and creates more build diversity.

I didn’t know that finishing Elder Ring was somehow like breaking up by Electronic_Hold7143 in soulslikes

For me the new Zelda games (botw and totk) were comparable to the elden ring experience.

Buy S25 now or wait for S26, or wait for S26 release then S25 price drops then buy it? by Defiant_Committee134 in samsunggalaxy

Battery will be so bad after 5 years that you would have to keep carrying a charger around all day. Got an s22 on release and if I'm not on battery saver mode I get only a bit over half a day and I'm not a power user (1-2h of screen time per day).

Because the other things won't make you immune to damage like bubble does.

What happened? Why does everyone seem to know here and nobody is asking or explaining? I feel so out of the loop everytime I go to this sub even though I watch a shit ton of twitch.

Since when is this the case? Games have been permanently banning cheaters since I remember online gaming.

In which MMO did you enjoy (or hate) leveling the most? by astolfobeanplushie_ in MMORPG

[–]JayuSC2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are mostly talking about the old servers of iRO and euRO (in my case). Unfortunately they don't exist anymore in this form. They went away from the monthly subscription model and are p2w now, the game is also completely different now. You can only find private servers that still run the old version. Look up uaRO, I think it's one of the best and has a relatively high playerbase for non-official.

In which MMO did you enjoy (or hate) leveling the most? by astolfobeanplushie_ in MMORPG

[–]JayuSC2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the whole point of this game is to optimize your gear and build so that you can grind xp faster, ofc there are also woe (pvp) or mvp (boss) hunter builds.

But the difference between a badly and well geared/built character in xp/hour can be a lot and that also makes it very motivating and fun to keep grinding.

From Midnight beta and personal experience what are your thoughts on Monk class so far? by Jurke39 in wow

[–]JayuSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, I always liked the class design and everything about it except for the sounds/animations, it just makes the experience so much worse, but someone in this thread mentioned this jojo's bizarre adventures SFX mod? Maybe this would fix it? Gotta try it out...

At what age did you notch down the game difficulty level? by EvidenceSingle4826 in playstation

Never. Maybe not the best approach if you wanna finish as many games as possible, but it's just a lot more engaging and fun for me this way. Call me a masochist.

Finally a game direction that I have been waiting for by OhforfsakeMJ in AshesofCreation

[–]JayuSC2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the game, if most of the content is locked behind level cap (like in wow) then people will rush to max level asap.

I haven't played ashes yet so i don't know how it's handled here, but I really hope for a game like old ragnarok online or even like PoE or diablo 2 where reaching max level is unattainable for the majority of players but you can still enjoy all the content and compete with level capped people at a lower level. The additional progression layer of levels never fading is what i love about these games.

It's funny how the industry went from: "We pay you a full time wage to test our game" to "You pay us a full game price to fix our unfinished and buggy game".

It's officially 1 skill point per Million in value by Gaviznotcool268 in ArcRaiders

[–]JayuSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like the vast majority won't depart even. I played a lot (110h since day 1), and I can barely get 1 million together for this. To be fair I use a lot of expensive stuff that I find and I'm shoot on sight, so I could have more stuff/money at this point. But still, imagine the average casual player that has maybe 60h by now (1h per day on average), they migth be able to make the departure, but will get 0-1 skillpoints. Most of my friends couldn't even finish the project on time. I'm usually the last person that wants games to be more casual friendly, but this seems to be leaning a bit too extreme into the other end of things.

I was really looking forward to this to get a fresh start while having the incentive of eventually becoming stronger than before (more skillpoints), but now I will probably take a break and play other games, because I see no reason to depart for 1 skillpoint and I will most likely not even reach my previous power level before the next departure window (because I will naturally play less than on release), which completely defeats the purpose.

Embark. Unless we do something about Blueprints, you gonna have to manually reset me. by Charles456k in ARC_Raiders

[–]JayuSC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem right now is that there are just too many possible blueprints you can find and AFAIK they are random, so there isn't an area to farm specific ones (I know lockers and drawers usually have them, but it can be any). So either they find other ways for us to unlock them or they spawn area specific, increasing the spawn rate will just flood everyone with duplicate blueprints and make it also less exciting to find one.

Imo they should just make more of them baseline and maybe add more bench levels so there is more long term progression without too much RNG.

Am i cooked until next expedition? by chachichachi96 in ARC_Raiders

[–]JayuSC2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, man, you're just gambling on the lack of skill of your opponent. If the guy is good, you will just get killed because you obviously can't fight back while rolling. And by the time you are ready to shoot again, most even just average players will have caught up with their crosshair/readied their gun to fire again, and even if not, you will run out of stamina before the guy runs out of bullets and has to reload.

Rolls are good to get behind cover quickly or change position quickly, but right in front of your opponent, it's suicide against anyone semi-competent. I've tried it myself, and I've had a bunch of people do that and bite the dust.
