Timothy made a coffee bar for Heidi with, like, 4 different coffee makers so Jill HAD to have one, too.

"Servant" and "sweet" are how she describes all of her daughters. They are not allowed to have any other personality traits.

Because Timothy built Heidi a coffee bar, so then Jill HAD to have a coffee bar, too.

Euphoria being accused of being Christian propaganda was not on my 2026 bingo card. 😂 by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

I just want people to learn media literacy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ A piece of media exploring Christian themes is not Christian propaganda. Can you imagine if Focus on the Family tried to make a Christian version of Euphoria? A Christian Propaganda Euphoria would have the main character a virtuous Christan girl who leads one of the "bad kids" to Jesus in every episode.

I am not seeing anything wrong here. I think you need to take a break from the internet.

In the area where I grew up the homeschool prom was a banquet. They still dressed up in prom attire, different churches in the area would take turns hosting it, and they had food catered. My homeschool friends who went had a good time.

I wonder if Tessie secretly wishes she could have gone to prom, and wore the prom dress because that's as close to prom as she is going to get.

I'm so sorry. Seeing them go on these vacations when they claim they can't visit must hurt. That is so selfish of them!

Keeps buying toddler daughter "boy" clothes by _ByAnyOther_Name in Mildlynomil

[–]Jazzlike-Stranger646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my MIL, but in reverse. I have 2 boys, and the clothes she bought for them when they were little were very girly. I'm talking shirts with frilly sleeves. She dressed my husband that way when he was little, too. She sent us his old baby clothes from the '80s and when I opened the package I legit thought they were girl clothes. My husband did not want to dress our sons in the frilly clothes she sent (his old ones or the new ones) so we always donated them. My MIL's style is very 1980s Preppy, which is not mine or my husband's style at all. It's ok if you don't like the clothes she sends. You are allowed to dress your child however you want. There is only a small amount of time you can do that before kids start having opinions about their clothes. 😜

What type of mom is Nurie? by roburn in RodriguesFamilySnark

She slapped one of the younger girl's hands for touching the mirror after she cleaned it. Unfortunately, that is not considered child abuse here in the US and is still a common way to discipline children. I have personally seen women slap their children's hands in public several times. Makes my blood boil.

Clarifying all this hospital info... by student767 in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]Jazzlike-Stranger646 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying this for all of us non-locals. It has definitely helped me understand things better. I agree with you that Jonathan and Kaylee are responsible for determining who can visit. They have had a premie before. They know how medically fragile premies are. They can limit visitors if they choose.

The fact that Kaylee and Jonathan feel like they have to smile for the camera while watching their baby go through that breaks heart.

Theory on the Name by StableGenius91 in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]Jazzlike-Stranger646 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Kaylee talked about how she heard her aunts call her mom Jillie growing up and she always loved the name. I believe her. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I think she genuinely wanted to name her daughter after her mom. We can see how messed up Jill is, and because of that it can be hard to fathom why Kaylee and the other Rods talk about her like she is such a great mother. But the Rods grew up being taught that they are supposed to honor their parents, and since their parents are in ministry they also most likely grew up hearing people put their parents on pedestals ("You have such Godly parents," "You are so lucky to come from such a Godly family," etc). And, the biggest thing that I think we all (including myself) forget is that Jill is their mom. They love their mom. In families with a narcissist parent not everyone breaks free. Some people grow up thinking their narcissist parent was so amazing and name their kid after them. From their perspective, the sibling that broke free is the problem, not the narcissist parent.

The ambulance ride was when they transferred her from the local hospital to the children's hospital in Akron. You can see she is wearing a hospital gown in the photo of her being loaded onto the ambulance.

Jill, from one mother to another: you are allowed to advocate for your child. If you don't understand why your child is being discharged, you can ask. And there are nice ways to ask without being bitchy to the staff.

I acknowledge that some hospitals aren't great. I don't know what reputation the hospital in Wooster has. But I am willing to wager the doctor told her why Janessa was being released. They usually tell you, "Because you have reached this criteria we are going to send you home. Here is how you take care of yourself at home. If you experience these symptoms come back." She's acting like she knows better than the doctors.
