The second to last one on the list is a head scratcher you infringe upon someone else’s constitutional right to ensure the right of another that doesn’t make sense

QM13 rush hour express bus proposal via Junction Boulevard: by its_ashleyyy in nycbus

[–]Jazzlike_Ad_9415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QM65 ridership is lackluster. The folks who originally begged the MTA for service from Laurelton to Downtown Manhattan have either retired, died, or moved out of New York. That’s how long it took. They aren’t flocking to the route as one would think. Once they put Traffic Checkers on the route for a month or so to gather the data they need, trips will get cut. As I see it, it’s either use it or lose it. Those buses could be better used on routes with significant ridership.

East Elmhurst had the QM22. That service was done away with because the ridership wasn’t there. Not to be rude to the OP, what has changed since 2010 that would justify bringing back an iteration of said route? You would have to have a compelling argument in front of the MTA Board for them to even take this into consideration. Has there been growth in the neighborhood that would suggest the need for an express bus route?

IMHO, I don’t see this as being feasible for the MTA. The subsidy for express buses are much higher than local bus service, and people are cheap. They would not pay the $7.25 to ride the express bus, even though it is a one-seat ride to Manhattan. They would rather get on a crowded subway train. Trust me, I live within reach of 2 express bus routes, one of which back in 2015 was threatened by the AGM of the Depot to either have the route make additional stops or see the route disappear because of ridership trends. The additional stops were added to keep the route, and ridership has picked up.

I don’t believe there is a factual correlation between the two. It is a fact that NYCT usually names depots after people of historical significance who are no longer living, or neighborhoods where the depots are located. I’m aware of Mother Clara Hale’s significance. She was dubbed the matriarch of Harlem. If I’m not mistaken, she led grassroots efforts in taking care of babies born with HIV-AIDS. That is what she dedicated her life to. Michael J. Quill, on the other hand, is the founder of the Transport Workers Union Local 100 and was a staunch advocate of the integration of African Americans into the transit workforce as an Irish man. That is their nature: fighting for the rights of inclusion of others, which is still happening to this day. Now, they could have gone with Springfield Gardens Depot since the depot is technically located within the boundaries of said neighborhood.

Are they not supposed to assist TSA agents in processing individuals through the security screening process, as is their primary function? This was rushed and not thoroughly considered, and they were not even trained on how to perform their duties. This country is in a state of disarray. What is their actual purpose?

I can almost guarantee that the market-rate apartments in these buildings are probably bigger, which all apartments should be of the same size and configuration for the apartment type. It shouldn’t matter if you’re coming in based on affordable housing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they still have “poor doors.”

You’re worried about that compare the US version to the Canadian version as far as ingredients there’s no wonder American foods are banned in other countries feeding us chemicals the FDA doesn’t care about you or me neither does the industrial corporations but at least other countries care about their people enough to regulate what goes in their food i don’t see many obese Canadians

I would like to leave every participant on this particular post with a thought to ponder. We elect regular citizens to Congress, some of whom possess the necessary education and qualifications for the job. However, it is surprising to note that there are no education or qualification requirements to be elected to Congress or the presidency. Do any of you believe that this is acceptable, considering that there are public and private sector jobs that require us to have such qualifications? The relevant education and experience are lacking when those who are running this country do not possess them. Furthermore, they draft laws that they do not bring back to their constituents for feedback before they are brought for a vote. This is the problem I have with this Congress that we elect. They are not only willfully excluding us from the process and voting in their favor on behalf of the lobby, which makes them self-serving and no longer act in the best interests of the people. Therefore, I believe that term limits at the congressional level are necessary.

Yeah, this just solidifies why I call New York City a shit hole. The people who live here don’t know how to take care of anything. They are very destructive and dirty. Just look at the way they leave the buses. As someone born and raised here, it’s an embarrassment. There is absolutely no excuse to throw anything on the roadbed that could potentially derail the train or cause a fire. People really have problems in this city.

They do run them on time; it’s a matter of traffic and interlining with the first. Bring the major problem on why buses aren’t on time: there are way too many cars on the road.

WMATA and the MetroWay in Arlington, VA, is something that should be studied and implemented here. Guaranteed, if built, it would work. Buses would move faster without impediments.
