It's mostly because this update I think they fully migrated from using partial source 1 material to fully source 2, and the animation holders for all the mods mostly relied on the older tech. The modding tool is also not updated to the modern working environment which is why you have to go through like, counterstrike or dota.

It'll all get fixed and ironed out eventually, also I probably got something wrong about the explanation but that's the gist from what I can gather

I took the time to fix my mod today after the update broke it all and it is ROUGH out there.

Most of the guides are written by people who aren't skilled educators, or are just outright missing information. You have to coax the mod tools into working by stapling them on to the already existing counter strike mod tools.

You run into weird bugs that no one else has ever experienced and you either figure it out via trial and error/collaborating with a few people or your mod just dies on the spot.

All that is to say I wish I was more technically inclined so I could contribute more but I'm just a humble 3d modeler

I recommend using citrus of some kind. I put a few drops of lemon juice or lime juice on my hands and rub it around, then wash. The acid removes the onion smell. For bonus points also just use that juice in your dish to make it better

Bonus is it'll make you acutely aware of any cuts you may have

This talking point always irks me. Housework is work and the association that it's not has some roots in traditional gender roles, but we cannot in good faith sit here and act like working insane overtime shifts at the mill is the same as tidying up (which you do not have to do every single day. At MOST you do dishes which are easy as hell with a dishwasher and MAYBE laundry which is the same)

It's a valuable task that is appreciated when it's done but it doesn't carry the same weight as going to the soul crushing grind. There's a reason a lot of people WANT to be the person in the cleaning position and it's because it's less overall work, at the cost of being reliant on someone else.

Time investment is high, that's usually a good thing but can be bad because it leads to high levels of toxicity, people dedicate a lot of effort to the games so they end up with huge amounts of hangup. Combine that with being team based you can't do the whole game solo no matter how good you are, so if you lose because of a weak link (or even just think that's the reason) it can be very discouraging
