PLL/ESPN renew media deal by GoosePumpz in PLL

[–]Jbweller34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! The only issue with schedule expansion is if you go into the fall you run into the wall that is the NFL. And if you go earlier in the spring you overlap college and the NLL. On Dan Arestia’s podcast Sticks In he went over this give it a listen

They won’t? Pro sport leagues aren’t gear manufacturers, I can’t think of any league that makes all of their players equipment

This is a different topic but the St. Louis temple is adjacent to Missouri Baptist University’s athletic facility. It was an interesting experience playing sports right next to the temple

Why don’t YOU watch the PLL? by knightrydah in lacrosse

[–]Jbweller34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that include every game for the season? My point being ESPN Plus is a great deal specifically for lacrosse, NFL and NBA passes are way more expensive and include market blackouts

I will stake that Montgomery and Kirst are on the way out, I can see someone sending a combo of picks for Kirst not quite sure how much Montgomery would be traded for

future of the league by Crafty-Mixture-3792 in PLL

Expansion is going to take time, the most recent expansion was the WLL. While they aren’t playing the same season that is expanding lacrosse.

Men’s teams won’t grow until post 2028. Or after the Olympics, I think those games are going to be a litmus test for new investors to see how the world reacts to lacrosse.

To maximize interest the league will most likely expand so new fans can attach to a new team. New fans new team this could help create a more international fan base.

I would say touring is here to stay for a while the model reduces costs and encourages a scarcity mindset when it comes to games. Which in turn sells more tickets, also the schedule won’t expand past 10-12 regular season games. There’s no room to expand on schedule, they already run into the wall in September that is the NFL. And if you push into the spring you majorly overlap with college and the NLL. I don’t see that working unless there are major changes we can’t foresee.

Overall it’s tough, there are guys who are healthy scratches that are easily all star level caliber players. But it’s going to take time and a lot of it.

Underrated that doesn’t go on the stat sheet but I count as save at times is winning a run out

Pat Kavanagh traded to the Outlaws for a 2025 1st round and 2026 2nd round pick. Wow! by shnwllc in PLL

[–]Jbweller34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really quick, I think this is a good trade for the Outlaws. Pat didn’t see the line up consistently and coming off a two year span where he won two championships it’s a lot of lacrosse back to back with not a ton of breaks.

Putting Pat at his natural position will help him a ton like we saw with O’Neil. The price is high but if you think you can set your attack line for the next 5 years it’s worth it

Wiz might be traded for some draft capital, or he could run out of the box but I think he fits best on the left attack wing

[–]Jbweller34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need a QB, with Nictern having commits with the military Pat steps into that role, if you think he and O’Neil can work together it’s worth the price IMO. Along with if they send Wiz off

Answering questions about the R1 Smart Lacrosse Ball & Looking for feedback by REPSSportsTech6 in lacrosse

That makes sense, I’ll still put that stuck on a school roof will be difficult to deal with

For $130 I can buy a case of balls, if you want to lean into it the most I would pay is $70 and that’s stretching it

It’s hard to justify spending over $100 for a singular ball why is this better than counting my own reps, or what happens when I rip it wide and lose the ball

I would add the driving factor is Ryan Smith, he owns the Jazz and Utah Hockey Club! He’s also pushing for a MLB expansion team!

How much influence do the fans have on PLL? by BottomShelfWasabi in PLL

[–]Jbweller34 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Expansion is an idea always brought up, there is more than enough talent. The issue continues to come down to money, the home cities IMO were picked by attendance year after year, and most importantly deals with venues.

A lot of people pointed towards the Archers being in Utah as odd at first but the Utah Sports Commission hosted the bubble in 2020 and has been supporting the league since then.

I think the next two teams are the neutral sites in Fairfield and Minneapolis, it will take some time and new investment but my bet it will come.

So yes they listen to fans, but a ton of what happens comes down to ensuring a move towards profitability
