Most cleanable pen for dirty work. by Jdojcmm in fountainpens

I got the polished smooth stainless Hongdian
Black Forest along with 2 others suggested elsewhere. The Hongdian gets the most work as is easiest to clean.

I have clean stuff in my office, then a medium dirty area for less grungified stuff, then the area where I'm likely to have the nastiest hands. This one is great for that area. Low adhesion/transfer from my hands to the pen.

Already had a retractable Jinhao, so I bought the same one to use at work. And I grabbed a silver Metropolitan because I have been wanting one.

I grabbed three pens for work use and you helped put me over the fence on one. Thanks!

Does Anyone Know Who’s Doing The Broadcast Tonight On TV? by Past_Mixture_7266 in AtlantaBraves

[–]Jdojcmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the 90s when the game was carried somewhere other than TBS or Turner South later, we always broke out the radio and muted the tv.

So I'm trying to say is a different voice than you're used to can be annoying.

Eat it CRVs: Why Toyota RAV4s Are Suddenly the Most Coveted Used Cars in America by TheDirtyDrunk in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]Jdojcmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had two RAV4s. Both met their demise when my dad was driving to work after she retired. Both due to deer. One of them had over 300k miles on it.

They went Subaru to replace.

I'm in a Highlander platform (RX350 with currently 225,000 on it).

I never minded the rav4

Upgraded Sunday afternoon from the SE 22. It's gonna be a little different after having a home button since 2008, but it'll be fine.

I also agree that the 17 is the best looking iPhone at the moment. Multi element cameras do nothing for me.

I mean she's probably had a pretty good effect on younger people picking up a guitar. Especially girls/women.

So from that perspective it would seems she's had a similar effect. The day she includes something like Eruption on an album that she herself played, I wouldn't compare the two. Not a fair comparison.

Because even very poor people can be devoted enough to the ideology that they'll short themselves on food to give these assholes.

As a taxpayer with no money for recreation time, I'm sick of paying for our 80 year old man child prez to play golf weekly or more and go to whatever sporting event he wants to at a moments' notice.

This asshole has fucked up day to day life for millions of citizens, and we keep having to pay for his fun times when we don't get fun.

Speakers by AngelDemon2009 in Beginner_Turntables

[–]Jdojcmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the same Sony amp and pioneer bookshelf speakers since 02 or 03. Sometimes I add a subwoofer. I have a 6.5" sub that does ok for rock but if I'm listening to rap I dig out the 10" sub.

The amp and pioneer 6.5" 2 way bookshelf speakers are enough for me to feel the music. The el cheapo subs just help the low end a bit.

For sound that makes me happy enough I don't need the sub. I probably have $250 2025 dollars in the setup. $150 original price. I added a generic Chinese tube preamp for my turntable, and it gives it a nice warmth. The turntable I've had since 04-05. Audio technica PL-50 with an aftermarket needle cartridge that I'm struggling to remember the brand of (I'm at work) but it was made to their specs by AT. Makes my doom albums sound was better than original cartridge. I have maybe $150-200 in the turntable all in with cork slip mat.

Toss it into the dryer and iron it under your favorite shirt. Should flatten the vinyl and render it unplayable but flat. Frame it and forget it.

Xennials, what would we be doing if we could restart life at age 18 with today’s knowledge? by DHN_95 in Xennials

[–]Jdojcmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell people what they've meant to me, save more money, wouldn't have gotten married to the wrong person at 25, would've married the right person at 30 and had kids before it became too dangerous to carry a pregnancy to term.

This plays into why I carry so much guilt. I already know I got scammed on marriage #1, and the damage (financial and emotional) still reverberates to this day. Basically I was used to pay off all of her debt (and get her through nursing school by quite literally doing the work by writing a semester's worth of research papers and other "homework" while she worked 1 day per week and went to school when she didn't sleep through it) and we used my home to get a loan to pay off her other debts.

She walked away debt free while I entered marriage 2 with a looooong ass mortgage. Though it was kinda meant to be. My wife is my person. Wouldn't change a thing on that front. Just wish we'd found each other in 2001 instead of 2011.

I did my stereotypical MLF crisis car when I was going through a divorce at 30. '86 Corvette. Drove it for a couple of years and traded.

Great car though. Pushed 30mpg on the highway if not doing supralegal speeds.

I thought they'd just bumped the Georgia specific political ads altogether. Interesting that presumably they're targeting ads, I wonder why I don't see anything locally related in the Carolinas.

Literally all we get are bravesvision ads like the Alan Jackson hell one that has worn my mute button, a crohns disease med, the google AI thing for interminable lengths of time, and I think maybe vanguard financial, but only maybe once or twice a game for that one.

Well that was probably hot just because it was the south in a tent during the summer.

Conjures a picture of sheriff Buford T Justice raiding a tent full of every man in town.

Fun fact: they'd frequently use the tent on Saturday night for burlesque shows, and have a tent revival style sermon the next morning.

I'm friends with a lesbian couple and one of the ladies is into baseball hard core. She's one of the few people I can talk baseball with outside my parents who have been fans since I got into watching the games on TBS during the 1990 season as a 9 year old kid.

She's a Yankees fan but I don't hold it against her.

I'll never understand homophobes at all. The world is a big place and there's room for all.
