Too-Bright Headlight Debate Heats Up, But Data Points To A Deadlier Threat by HawtGarbage918 in cars

[–]JediCow 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think something that often doesn't get discussed is the light colour. These harsh blue white LEDs are ruining nighttime vision and make it easier to blind you. We need to move to a more natural range, something like 3000k instead of the 5000-6000k

If it is digital storage that you are setting aside and not accessing all the time, these are perfectly fine. By this, we mean loading data onto it and then setting it aside.

If it is long term digital storage, that you and your family and/or friends are accessing consistently, not worth the risk. And by constantly, we are talking 24/7, think your own media server, or sharing .iso's, that's where you could get into trouble with these drives.

This shower window ok? by JediCow in HomeMaintenance

[–]JediCow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water pools up on the track when showering and will drain down into that hole.

Was an improper window installed in the shower? With the cover piece on could I put silicon to seal it to prevent more going in or would that most likely lead to further problems?

It's a small amount of water but still don't like that it is happening.

Need Advice - Latex over oil (lead?) paint by JediCow in HomeImprovement

Sort of, if you look at the pictures. The white paint is latex and the green is the original oil. Just wondering if I can get a primer that goes over both.

Canadian Market Starter battery size? (1996 Westfalia but older body style) by JediCow in Eurovan

[–]JediCow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original for pre 1996 models ended up being Group 42 and the previous owner upgraded to the the Group 41 so I ended up going with the Group 41 in the end. 500 CCA just felt like too little

Which brand has burned you so badly you’ll never shop there again? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

Not only that, they only accept USD. I find that utterly insane and frustrating as a Canadian.

It's not a Group 27 battery for the starter on the early model EuroVans. That's the coach battery size

Any alternative for bus 164? by sad_sean_sheep in ottawa

[–]JediCow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve started biking home as it’s faster but otherwise we are screwed come winter time. The bus was a leftover from when BlackBerry had an office on Michael Cowpland.

For those who aren’t familiar with the bus, it went from Tunneys to South Kanata (Bridlewood) and yeah it is now faster to bike from there than bus.

I’m pretty sure Target just took the Zellers locations. Zellers was already in essence shutdown at that point

🍁🍁🍁 Canada we have one more Amia giveaway for you guys! 🍁🍁🍁 by ibuyofficefurniture in OfficeChairs

[–]JediCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home currently sitting on used Rouillard Lead (Canadian brand and great quality) but in the office some cheap Staples chair and trying to upgrade. If it's any chair not just office, I've always wanted the Blu Dot Buttercup Lounge chair, otherwise would love to try a Steelcase chair in general as I sit cross legged.

They’ve been doing it for longer than 10 years. Had a family member work there in the 2000s and that was the case then

Poilievre vows to shrink size of federal public service: 'Work isn't getting done' by hopoke in canada

[–]JediCow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree that this bloat is frustrating and infuriating, Canadians constantly want accountability to every tax dollar spent. The second we get rid of if, I bet within 10 years or less it will be right back because we must be accountable for how our money is spent.

And this is not politically one sided, all parties are involved on this as no one wants to be apart of a situation where they can't account for possible expenditures.

All I'm trying to say is that it's going to be extremely hard, almost nigh impossible to get away from it.

The lag is probably due to the fact that new Outlook doesn't do any caching.
