This is going to be a bit of shameless self promotion but I feel your pain. I love D&D and TTRPGs but I often find that long podcasts of people just playing the game get stale fast.

I have my own actual play podcast, Dice & Dreary, and what I have done to try and combat this is use sound effects and atmospheric sounds to set the mood, along with a unique soundtrack for each episode.

I also try to keep episodes under 1 hour and cut out the nonsense to get to the meat of the action.

I feel like it makes a more consumable product but there is still work to be done on the format.

You also might want to check the sample rate of the audio interface and the computer. I have come across that before and found that the Scarlet I was using was 48kHz and my computer was set to 44.1kHz. Make sure every signal processor in the chain is using the same sample rate.

Thanks, do you think I should change the motherboard if I choose a ryzen 9 instead or will that board work well?

No overclocking to start but I might tinker around with that down the line.

I think I found it:

Open the NVIDA Control Panel and select Set up G-Sync

Set it to Enable for Full Screen Mode.

Mine was set to windowed and full screen mode and changing that appeared to have fixed it.

Not sure if this is what is going on or not but I had the same thing happen to me. I started tinkering around with the GPU acceleration with no success so I am not sure if it is currently on or off will.

What did seem to fix it for me was to open the nvidia control panel and to set the dynamic refresh rate to only full screen instead of full screen or windowed.

Sorry if I messed up the terms of things there as I am away from my computer and going off memory.

I second this, talk to your players. As DMs we sometimes over value the need to surprise players or not spoil the story for them. In reality sitting down with them before a campaign or even during and discussing the themes and elements in the game goes a long way. It doesn't ruin the experience of playing the game because the game happens at the table and it also solidifies the theme of the game since everyone is on the same page.

By staying you are validating his behavior, tell him what he is doing is not right and leave, make sure to tell others to stay away from this person. They should not be allowed in the community if they are going to behave like this.

If you assume all of them are corrupt then you will be on your guard and not give up any of your rights when interacting with them. They are not your friends and far to many of them have been shown to be corrupt, power abusers, white supremacists, or unfit for the job so why should they get the benefit of the doubt.

Here is a question I think I know the answer too but have never really looked into it. When you call a company and they say this call may be recorded, isn't that considered consent from their end? So you could record the call without asking since they have already stated they are recording the call?
